WASHINGTON - The Navy says a second officer has been transferred from his job pending investigation into the showing of lewd videos on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.
Rear Adm. Dennis Moynihan, a Navy spokesman, said Thursday that Rear Adm. Lawrence Rice has been transferred out of his job at Joint Forces Command. His retirement planned for Feb. 1 is being delayed.

On the one hand, the firing of Capt Owens is a steaming pile of PC horse sh*t. It's bad enough that one officer is losing his career over these videos.
On the other hand, why should he go down alone? If this guy was his CO why shouldn't he be held to the same standards Owens is?
They should be held accountable. Military Officers should not engage in this type of behavior. Leave it to the NCO’s, and I mean that in a good way. This stuff is healthy, but it cannot come from the officers, IMHO.
Just another distraction. These guys knew (or should have known) better, and they know what to expect from our system. Live by the sword, die by the sword ....the USN in particular always, ALWAYS thinks that producing a corpse will get the heat off. And more is ALWAYS better.

I’m sick to death of moralist blowhards who patronize our servicemen. If they are willing to stay up at night for us while we sleep soundly in our beds then I don’t care if they watch the occasional “Debbie” flick.
ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX has some borderline ‘lewd’ stuff during prime time too, in my opinion, and that includes some commercials as well.
Actually it's about Good Order and Discipline. This XO (and those above him who knew and did nothing) made a clown of himself, not a Commander. This would not be tolerated in the Navy I once knew.
When I was in OCS, my Company Commander said that when we were at a function and all the Privates and Sergeants were swinging from the rafters with lampshades on their heads, we as officers should not and would not even have our Class A jackets unbuttoned. That’s the difference.

I can only imagine how something like that would go over today.

Any officer who engages in making on the job porn flicks in this day and age is insane. The politics of political correctness never rests for the military. At most it occasionally flies beneath the radar screen but all military people know the danger is there even if they can’t see it at the moment.
The public culture is currently pure sexual trash and so it is easy to see how they could fool themselves into thinking they could get away with trash. Not smart.
