I disagree. Any state that steps up and says that he needs more proof of citizenship is going to be called a bunch of racist, evil right-wingers. They will be vilified by the press and by the liberal establishment. They will be smeared with every tactic we have ever seen and then some. Anyone who works in the department that certifies such things will find themselves and their families targeted for abuse.
To the libs this is war and a scorched earth policy is acceptable to them. And this has been working for them for the most part. I see no reason for them to change it. They will dare the conservatives to challenge his birth certificate because they believe they can win that battle.

January 18, 2011 Hawaii Gov Neil Abercrombie
Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie suggested in an interview published today that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health.
Abercrombie told the Honolulu Star Advertiser he was searching within the Hawaii Department of Health to find definitive vital records that would prove Obama was born in Hawaii, because the continuing eligibility controversy could hurt the president's chances of re-election in 2012.
I don’t think he is going to run again if he does not have proof of being born in Hawaii. Even so, there is still the question of him not being born to American parents. So if it goes to court through a Secretary of State lawsuit, it’s iffy for the democrats so they won’t want him to run unless they know he has a solid case. To know that, the DNC has to be sure his birth documentation will stand up to expert document examination and they have to know ahead of time that the court will alter the defination of Natural Born Citizen to fit Obama’s situation.
If he does run, he’s made a deal with the Rinos to cover up for him again and they all have to believe these Rinos can keep control over every Secretary of State/Gov. in the Union plus the all Tea Party insiders. I don’t see how the Rinos can protect him from an honorable Sec. of State and court. We only need one SoS loyal to the constitution.
If the press starts making noise about Obama’s health (they have already been mentioning how much weight he’s lost)I suspect he’s getting out before he’s nailed for fraud. All this money he’s gathering from donars (his goal is a billion dollars) for his second term, I doubt he intends to use it for the stated purpose. I think he’s shaking the donars down and they don’t know it yet.

I have and I believe they are willing to go that far if they think they need Obama to to retain executive power. If they ran him fraudulently in 2008, and they did if the "birth certificate" produced was false, they would again. They simply don't care whether he is American-born. Nor do they care about ensuing public outcry from mainly conservatives. And unless concrete and irrefutable evidence is presented of fraud, IMO they won't be dissuaded from running him whether it "smells of high treason" or not.

That's the illogical position of the after-birthers, which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
If Obama had had an original long form bc that proved his alleged eligibility, he would produced it in a heartbeat. The very fact that he's stonewalled the American public for OVER two years about this, is proof positive that he CAN'T produce it. That logic is iron-clad, and inescapable to any but the densest people.
Personally I think he’s ashamed of something (s) in his past that would really make him look bad.
That's another theory that's possible, but simple speculation at best. Embarrassment doesn't rise to the level of reason required for a sitting president to withhold something of such importance to the nation.
Either that or he’s a manufactured robot with no past at all.
Of the three possible scenarios you mentioned, that one is the most logical, given the near-complete blockade of every record of his life before he was a state senator in Illinois.

If this presidency leads to anything, it should at least make it law that anyone running for President has to provide a birth certificate before registering. Party say so should have no bearing...
It won't be "fixed" if the American people aren't buying it. Obama can produce anything he wants, but he's going to have to somehow sell the people on the idea that he really hasn't been hiding anything all this time. That's going to be one tough sell, and most on our side probably won't believe him.
If Obama runs again, it's going to open up a bloody debate across the country about the meaning of the Natural Born Citizen clause of the Constitution. It won't matter whether he produces a bullet-proof long form bc, or not.
If the document is consistent with the lie he's been telling for the last twenty years or more, our side is going to still argue that you can't be president unless you've got TWO American citizen parents, and that he should never have been allowed to assume the office of president from the get-go.
There are two people whose entry into the 2012 primary will light the country on fire (albeit for very different reasons). One is Sarah Palin, and the other is Barack Obama.

There is a web site Vita Check (http://www.vitacheck.com) where you can get birth, marriage, divorce, and death records from all 50 states. You put in the complete name, date, state, and town. It will require a credit card to pay for it. I ordered a vital record today, but don’t know if it would work for the Wun.
I really think the way the democrats will get out of this is that once they decide to cut him lose, some well known democrat will ‘discover’ that (cue violins) they have all been duped by bobo and his band of merry chicago thugs. They will say they had no IDEA that bobo could be so dishonest and how brave the democrat (hilary) was to bring this painful and embarrassing information out into the open. Hey the democrats will say, let’s nominate her for POTUS instead. /violin music off.
