A top official for the Russian Orthodox Church on Tuesday proposed creating an all-Russian dress code, lashing out at women who leave the house painted like a clown and confuse the street with striptease......
He argued that clothing is not a private business, and that he hoped that Russia would soon be a place where scantily-dressed women or men in track suits would not be admitted into public venues.

I am friendly with some Orthodox folks here in Manhattan. The priest, who is about my age (early 50s)really gets peeved when women come in in mini-skirts. Some of the more pious people wear head-coverings. He doesn’t want the guys coming in wearing t-shirts and gym shorts. But this priest in Russia is advocating a dress code for more than just church. OK, ladies, drag out that babushka.
A German court just ruled that women must wear bras at work. White or Flesh colored only and the women must have clean finger nails. Please cue up the photo from Bananas.
The ACLU would be all over that one like maggots on garbage.
If she is actively inviting contact, and then is surprised that this contact ends with a rape, she is all the more at fault.
Oh yeah. Nothing to disagree with there. /s
Do you also agree with the Taliban? I believe they’re not pleased with mini-skirts either.
How about just “No fat chicks”? I could support that one.
In other news, a study has found that children who play on the interstate highways are killed by cars more often than those children who play in their backyards.
If I had a role to play regarding Russian morality, it might be awhile before I got around to a dress code for non-ecclesiastical functions
Have we exported some kooks to Russia///????
awwwwwwwwwwwwww :D
When truth is spoken to corruption - well look who howls.
Obviously girls wearing revealing clothes should not drink in places where rapists drink.
I'd settle for a law that forces men to remove their hats when they're inside.

Well, you have to start somewhere. This may be a good place.
Some seem to think the two choices are: burkas or public nudity.
I think there is a solid middle.
You could set basic community standards without destroying freedom. We already have laws against public nudity, and we seem to be coping with those just fine.
The priesthood is the enemy of freedom, no priest ridden people ever have full freedom. The guy is clearly deranged,,, Russian women should dress just the way they do. Can’t believe we might have nuked them,,, all those hotties!
I'm not sure the Orthodox Priest has a role to play enforcing his views on non-church members. I wouldn't want Mormons or Baptists, for example, deciding the issue of liquor permits for everyone. He should counsel his flock and grow it if he can.
In what state can you walk around nude in public?
