Obama announces review of government regulations 20 mins ago

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama said on Tuesday he would order a government-wide review of regulations with the goal of eliminating those that hurt job creation and make the U.S. economy less competitive.

In an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal, Obama said some government regulations have placed "unreasonable burdens on business -- burdens that have stifled innovation and have had a chilling effect on growth and jobs."

He said he would require that in the future government agencies "ensure that regulations protect our safety, health and environment while promoting economic growth."

The president has recently ratcheted up efforts to soothe relations with the business community, after alienating corporate America through rhetorical attacks against Wall Street and an agenda heavy on regulation.

Business leaders say government regulations, including those being written for the healthcare overall and financial reform, have hurt job creation at a time of high unemployment.

"It's a review that will help bring order to regulations that have become a patchwork of overlapping rules, the result of tinkering by administrations and legislators of both parties and the influence of special interests in Washington over decades," Obama wrote.

He can review all he wants. With the new Obama Death Care law, small businesses won’t be able to function at all.

Besides, obama always says oe thing and does the opposite. He will simplly get rid of the ild regulations and impose socialist ones which favor the unionization of small businesses.Obama is a dishonest lying trope. He has no business evenb eing in the office. The people hate him.

It was only a matter of time before Obama took the “triangulation” route.

Triangulation can be useful for a politician, but it’s tricky. Bill Clinton was able to triangulate himself into a second term, but even he wasn’t able to use that tactic to take back Congress and he had to sacrifice many of his favorite policies in the process. That’s an unfortunate implication for Obama, who only wishes he was half as smart a politician as Bill Clinton.

It’s a bad sign for Obama when even Reuters is immediately and openly skeptical.

Now picked up by CNBC: Obama Wants to Shed Rules That Hurt Job Growth

President Barack Obama Tuesday ordered a government-wide review of regulations with the goal of eliminating those that hurt job creation and make the U.S. economy less competitive.

Obama took action after unveiling his plan in an op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal in which he said some rules have placed "unreasonable burdens on business — burdens that have stifled innovation and have had a chilling effect on growth and jobs."

-----------------

Unreasonable burdens on business? Like the corporate tax rates, for instance? Or health care mandates forced by the Insurance bill? Or new EPA directives which sidestep the law?

...with the goal of eliminating those that hurt job creation and make the U.S. economy less competitive.

Here's a hint: That would be all of them.

If anyone had any question whether there were any regulations that are not just a protection racket, reference Houston's food regulations that have been used to force a couple from handing out food to homeless people without a permit. Also, they can't get a permit according to the same regulators.

All regulation is collusion between the government and the big, usually politically connected, players in the industry or activity being regulated.

All regulation is done at the expense of the smaller or less politically connected, entrepreneurs that would provide innovation and/or better quality, and ultimately the consumer.

It will be up to the Pubbies to defund them. But as far as winning the propaganda war, he just aced us on regulations.

I do not think so. MANY no longer care what 0marxo says -they watch what he does. Right now his telepromptered lips say one thing while the lack of oil drilling in the gulf say quite another. He lies...

Obviously I hope you’re right. But remember, Obama only has to sway a few percetage points in the middle. I heard Larry Sabato and Neal Cavuto how Obama is moving to the center. It was ridiculous. Obama is a radical ideologue who wants to get reelected so he can continue to transform the US into an

When you get Neal Cavuto thinking that, just maybe, Obama is going to become “BUSINESS FRIENDLY”, we are in serious trouble. COBURN IS GOING TO SIT WITH SCHUMER????? That’s what they comne upo with??
