TUCSON A victim of the shooting spree here that severely injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was taken into custody on Saturday after the police and witnesses said the man spoke threateningly at a televised forum intended to help this stricken city heal.
Eric Fuller, 63, a military veteran who was passionate about liberal causes and who had supported Ms. Giffords, was involuntarily committed for mental health evaluation, according to Jason Ogan, a spokesman for the Pima County Sheriffs office.
Mr. Fuller, who was shot in the left knee and the back on Jan. 8, was among several victims, medical personnel and others who attended a special forum televised by ABC and hosted by Christiane Amanpour.
State Representative Terri Proud, a Republican, was sitting two rows behind Mr. Fuller. The topic of gun control had come up in the forum, she said, and a comment was made by one of the speakers about a bill that was introduced recently in Arizona that would allow staff members on college campuses with concealed weapons permits to carry guns.
Ms. Proud said she spoke up to clarify the exact language of the bill. At that point, Trent Humphries, the founder of the Tucson Tea Party, who was sitting one row behind her, rose to speak and suggested that discussion about gun legislation be postponed until after the funerals. He started to explain that he, too, had been affected by the tragedy through a neighbor who was a victim.
That was, according to Ms. Proud, when Mr. Fuller blurted out to Mr. Humphries: Youre dead.

ROTFreekingFLMAO. That's funny visual, i don't care who you are.
Oh. I see. Gotcha.
Yes. Who first reported this story about Fuller getting into an argument with a Marine? Has this Marine been identified?
Hmmmmm.... interesting, very interesting. And seems to be almost as big of a loose cannon as Jared.
As in Moscow's “Serbsy Institute,” where political enemies went in sane and left broken, mad, or in a box.
Word to the wise, on political “agitators.”
nope. Fuller spoke about it himself. was real proud of it.
He certainly is strange.
Very odd, the whole thing is odd. I’m sure in the coming days we are going to find out lots of things about Jame Eric Fuller.
One thing that made me laugh, is that he spent 10 years studying library books. ????
Loughner and Fuller live less than a mile apart. You could walk, bike, or drive it in about 10-12 minutes.
Oh, and Fuller is a chauffeur, AKA taxi driver.
I don’t even want to think where this could go. But I’m seeing a very dark possibility here. The idea that this guy Fuller may have driven Loughner to the Safeway is unsettling. I don’t want to emulate the lefty loonies, but if the taxi story is true, something stinks.
Get used to it, something is really rotten in Tucson.
Fuller is a book guy. He a BDS liberal... Jared was a volunteer in 2010 at Tucson Festival of Books...Jared’s torture and genocide video focused on the campus PD, the bookstore for selling/not selling some books, and the “illegal” war.
Now we hear that Fuller went to the Loughner’s house to talk to his parents, to forgive? Jared?
Is there something in the water down there in Tucson?
...or any lib blogger for that matter.
ROFL!
He was “passionate” about liberal causes as opposed to TEA Partiers who are (insert inflammatory rhetoric here) about conservative causes.
Do you have a source for that?
Now, wait right there.
I'm not unsympathetic to PTSD. I've seen more parts of Iraq and Afghanistan than most Iraqis and Afghans. BUT, what is he saying here? Either he was a computer operator in the military or before, saw some s***, and was unable to work with computers any more?
Vietnam was before my time. I wasn't there, don't know how it was. But Jesus, that was a long time ago. How do you live this long without coming to terms with it?
I say this as someone who once jumped behind his couch after being startled by fireworks, and still notices things out of place on the sides of roads. Sure, you carry part of it with you forever. I understand that. But the whole thing? This guy needed to have a stern talk with his mirror decades ago.
If he had some pre-existing crazy, well, that might be an issue too, I guess.
Cheers!
