TUCSON When President Obama took the stage here Wednesday to address a community and a nation traumatized by Saturdays killings, it invited comparisons to President George W. Bushs speech to the nation after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and the memorial service President Bill Clinton led after the bombing of a federal office building killed 168 people in Oklahoma City in 1995 . . .
-snip-
Even as it began, some conservative commentators were posting comments criticizing the memorial service for being overly partisan and more like a pep rally, and there were some boos in the hall when Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, spoke. Those reactions would have been hard to imagine, say, in the days after the Oklahoma City bombing.

How did mostly Democrat hacks get into the church?
It was held (appropriately enough) in the University of Arizona’s sports arena.
The State Controlled Media is spinning so hard they’re going to hurt themselves. First, they tried to blame Palin, Limbaugh or anyone else that even resembled a conservative. When that didn’t get any traction with people, the SCM regrouped and has been busy selling the Obama “reinventing” himself message.
Comparing a crazy man shooting some people to 9/11 or the Oklahoma City bombing? Really?
This one seems to be getting traction with the people. It makes me want to throw up.
OK- the boos, even more so than the cheers, push this over the edge of disgusting partisan hackery.
College “students.” Not an ounce of respect among them. It was disgustimg.
Another Wellstone Rally, Yep.
They showed showed themselve to be ‘Neculturna’; without culture to the enth degree.
If I were a Univ. of Arizona alum, I’d be burning that college presidents ass about the performance last night. Starting with, zero dollars to the alumni association until there’s an apology and some assurance that his students will be taught the difference between a pep rally and a memorial service. And whoever came up with the notion of a “theme” and free t-shirts is fired. Sheesh, you have to tell these people everything! And the only language university presidents really understand is money, especially money in their foundations.
Bingo.
A horrible measure of how far we have devolved in college these days.
His calls during the campaign for an end to brutal partisanship appeared to carry little weight these past two years in Washington.
Huh? end to brutal partisanship??
Do you call his speech saying republicans can ‘come along but they have to sit in the back of the bus’ a call to end ‘brutal partisanship’?
If you spit in the well, expect to drink the water
The boos were from the illegal alien student section and the “Hispanic” professors at ASU.
don’t remember all of this from the media or obama when a mad muslim shoots soldiers at FT Hood.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, weird that , we were told back then that we should wait till all the facts come out and now that doesn’t apply.
As for the media, well they are a disgrace, even watching this white house press corp right now going on about Sarah Palin and them getting their stabs in at her.
You stay classy democrats.
It was a sports arena and there were no Christian Clergy present on stage nor did they speak. They had some witch doctor dancing around at the beginning.
Obama, Napolitano and Holder welcomed as heroes to Arizona.
What a pathetic crowd.
Isn’t that odd to begin with?
