Here - whats said is said, and cant be unsaid; unless the Mods remove it of their own accord, or sometimes will if you ask pretty please... I've seen individual replies go away, and I've seen entire threads disappear, but neither can be editted.

From the Free Republic Home page... Were currently delivering over thirty million pageviews per month to over one million visitors. To put that into perspective, FR gets slightly more visits than msnbc.com. Places like drudgereport and cnn.com beat FR, but we're still in the same order-of-magnitude, while I'm guessing that cnn.com has a MUCH bigger budget than JimRob has.

Thanks, Jim. You are all appreciated.

And what of the articles that go missing after various weeks or months?
I have no problem going to the originating source to finish reading an article, but, I don’t want to ALWAYS have to do so.
To: Elsie; reaganaut
That depends on what your goals and expectations are.
I’m not trying to ferret out denomination wide distinctives.
I’m asking for a very personal set of multi-dimensional snapshots at a variety of congregational types of the Christian experience.
I find that exceedingly fascinating and informative about Christian life as well as human nature in general.

Well, I need to amend my post. lol To use the FR logo and have it readable (the part about defending the Constitution), you can probably get 4 to a page.

Yay!
I’ve reached the end of the thread.

I have seen no other bulletin board that compares to the FR format. It is the best. With the other boards I can never seem to figure out who is responding to who or what. I'll take this horse and buggy any day.+1
BTW, where else do you have to learn html at least a bit in order to swim.

I agree. It’s hard for me to imagine the situation that prevents any American from having a spare 10 bucks over the course of a 6 week freepathon.

What if FR was a paid subscription of $1.00 per month? Might be easier that way.

One problem I noticed is that this website does not take advantage of compression using Gzip or Deflate which would speed up access It depends on what you value more - the bandwidth or the CPU load. All pages are dynamic. Even the main forum page updates counters once someone posts a comment. You would have to compress very frequently, and that is a bottleneck because you have to do that on your own CPU. On the other hand, bandwidth is scalable, and once it's out of your link (that you pay for) you don't care how it gets routed to any specific client.

Everybody has a voice and not one comment here will make changes if they are not wanted. Always lots of arguing on threads like this. JimRob stated what he wants and doesn’t want. I saw it early on too.
