Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.

Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.

"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

I was watching what LE carried out this time...couldn’t quite figure it out...but now, maybe the bottom layer was a box which folds...

Was that before he left or on way to train station for trip to NYC? Sorry - I’m behind.

If on way to station, didn’t he also previously say that he had a box for his wife for Christmas?

Unsheathed....If it was what was in the box, unsheathed on the floor would be the perfect place....MOISTURE....from being boxed up. That makes sense at least....

On the way to the station....

I'm having a little trouble getting a cohesive story out of Dill...I'm going to reserve judgement on just about EVERYTHING he told us...

No one things it's strange that he never mentioned stopping at the Post Office to pick up this HUGE box before going to the train station??

And even though Jack's place was trashed...and he knew about the smoke bombs...he never said boo to the cops....until at least the next day.

Jack Wheeler and The West Point Cadet Saber and Scabbard:

Was Jack, sensing his own end was near, attempting to relive an earlier time?

“Kurt Davis slid the steel saber from its scabbard and unsheathed childhood memories that gleamed as bright as the blade.”

This was a horrible and undignified end for an honorable man.

I don’t know if you remember all the controversy about the Vietnam Veterans Memorial when a Yale architecture student’s “wall” design was selected by a panel of professional judges, but that design turned out to be, in my opinion, an outstanding, near-perfect war memorial. It has basically become a shrine.

The Wall” coming to fruition was largely the result of a lot of hard work by a relentless and gutsy Jack Wheeler, who supported the original design by Maya Lin against a whole lot of veterans and various political big shots who absolutely HATED it. Reagan’s Interior Secretary even refused to issue a building permit for the memorial because of the public outrage. But Wheeler persisted and made it work, and this nation owes him a debt of gratitude for that, as well as for his other decades of service.

John Wheeler served in Vietnam as a Captain at U.S. Army headquarters from 1969-1970.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall was dedicated November 13, 1982. - Today 58,226 names are inscribed on The Wall.

The Wall includes the names of deceased and missing. The goal of the Memorial was to allow all people to reflect on the price of war and to honor those who served.

Well done, Jack Wheeler. May you Requiescat in Pace.

Thanks, Lucy.

I’ve been to the “Wall” three times......did the ‘tracings’ of several lost friends and relatives. It is a powerful and incredibly touching experience.

“well done” indeed. (Thank you, Mr. Wheeler, and RIP.)

Jack Wheeler will rest in peace when his murder(s) are found, prosecuted, and sent to prison for life.

I'll say it again...What did Klyce say when someone at the wedding asked "Where's Jack?"..

I don't know?? He's lost...you know how he gets lost...and the house got trashed, too and he never returned my calls.

Does any of HER behavior make sense??

And Colm the attorney???...Funny Jack was possibly looking for Colm...and she hires Colm...

factor in also, that Zero flew to San Francisco last week for a not-covered-much meeting with internet and internet security major players - from Apple to Oracle to Yahoo:

That actualyy sounds like govt will provide computers to every "poor" kid along with their free lunch.

Can't see any connection to Jack that would precipitate murder.

Well ,your point is well taken, they could have been talking about cyber-security and cyber warfare. That would have been by it's nature a private off-the-record discussion and we'll never know.

From reading the article you linked to, it looks like Obummer's primary goal in going out there was to pimp for campaign cash...

Employees in the high-tech industry contributed $8.5 million to Obama’s 2008 campaign, compared with $1.5 million for Republican nominee John McCain, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a Washington-based research group. No 2008 candidate received more money than Obama from industry employees. Obama won more than 70 percent of the vote in 2008 in the area where the dinner is taking place.
