MSM Implies Palin Responsible for Giffords Shooting
Self | 1/8/2011 | Qbert

Posted on 01/08/2011 12:16:48 PM PST by Qbert

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was wounded in a shooting at a supermarket today in Tucson, Arizona. At least 12 people have been shot, and reportedly six have died. Thoughts and prayers go out to Rep. Giffords and family and all of those wounded on this horrific day.

Congresswoman Giffords was reportedly shot in the head. There are conflicting reports as to whether she has died.

Despite the lack of further information, ABC local news (and countless Tweets on Twitter) have begun implying that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin supposedly motivated the actions of the shooter because of her "Take Back the 20" political "target map":

"Giffords was one of 20 House Democrats who voted for the new health care reform law featured on Sarah Palin's infamous "Take Back the 20" target map last year. The map drew controversy for its use of gun sights.

Giffords' office was vandalized after the health care vote.

To imply that Palin is somehow responsible for a shooting because of a harmless political map is beyond revolting. It is especially troubling in an era in which President Obama has repeatedly used highly charged, violent-themed language, recently calling his opponents "hostage takers", and stating during his 2008 campaign that his supporters would "bring a gun" if his opponents brought a "knife" to a hypothetical fight.

OK, I have to take it back. Now media is reporting the perp is 22-yo Jared Laughner.

My apologies, but they were also reporting it was an “automatic weapon” at first. I’m sure the scene was chaos so mistakes will be made in those circumstances.

After reading the WashPost article, I am convinced this is thug activity, activating the "community" to respond. But, there were bricks thrown through windows and doors all over the country, and I think they are left-wing bricks.

Obama and crew are determined to create an "event" to trigger a massive armed response to a created problem. Tin foil hat not necessary!

I wonder who the dummies will blame on the murder of Chief Judge John Roll who was a Republican.

“Linda Lopez on FOX complaining about Giffords facing vitriol of tea partiers.”

Yes, I heard Arizona state Senator Lopez and wrote the following letter to her.

Dear Ms. Lopez,

I heard you on Fox news making comments on the terrible shooting in Arizona where Rep. Giffords and others were critically shot. When you said how terrible this was and how the shooter should face the full force of the law I agreed with you totally. Then you made a comment about probably the shooter was associated with the tea party movement. How you could say that is beyond my understanding.

If you have checked into any violent acts that have taken place, they have been from either Islamic terrorists, Mexican drug runners, or Union thugs. Point out just 1 incident where the violent act was committed by someone associated with the tea party movement. You can't, because there have not been any.

Now we know this terrible shooter of Giffords and others had favorite books which are Mein Kampf, and the Communist Manifesto. Perhaps he shot Giffords because she is Jewish?

The shooter is certainly not a constitutional conservative in any way, shape, or form which is what the tea party movement is all about. Just so you know, the tea party movement is made up of Democrats, Republicans and Independent voters across all nationalities and economic status. We want all Americans to be safe and pray for any victims of any crimes across America.

Sincerely, xxxxxxx

Let’s see, a lefty upset with Giffords (apparently for being insufficiently leftist for the lefty’s wishes) goes to a right wing political commentator for advice on dealing with the disagreement, and takes that advice in a stupidly literal sense.

Yeah that’s the ticket.

Sorry for all the multiple posts, something weird with the connection on this end. Probably not your fault. The FR is very busy and running very, very slowly today, leading posters to conclude that their post did not go through. I've seen lots of multiple posts ...

“But who was it that said,”If they bring a knife, you bring a gun”?

Not the Tea Party.”

We all know who has been inciting the mistrust for the past 3 years. I never seen a President, personally do this among American people. Not even Clinton did this. Here we have a President advocating violence, hate and mistrust among the people he is supposed to be leading.

Trying hell! They are doing a good job of it. Ever heard of the phrase, “Tell a lie loud enough and often enough people start believing it?”

Yeah, me too, just about every thread.

I thought the problem was on my end but I have been hearing people talking about problems with the site all week. Lot’s of conspiracy theories, I figure it is just the normal intarweb f-ups.

I don’t think FR is under attack, but you never know. DOS can cause lots of weirdness and the moonies would love to shut this place down. I hope things get sorted out soon, I really like reading the stuff here.

Here is the other angle in this case:

Chief Judge John Roll is no ordinary ‘Republican.’ He is the judge that ruled in favor of the illegal ‘immigrants’ that were suing the ranchers who were protecting their property.

He is way left for a ‘Republican.’
