The Congressional Budget Office, in an email to Capitol Hill staffers obtained by the Spectator, has said that repealing the national health care law would reduce net spending by $540 billion in the ten year period from 2012 through 2021. That number represents the cost of the new provisions, minus Medicare cuts.
Repealing the bill would also eliminate $770 billion in taxes. It's the tax hikes in the health care law (along with the Medicare cuts) which accounts for the $230 billion in deficit reduction.
Full email, from Edward "Sandy" Davis, CBO's Associate Director for Legislative Affairs, below.

Logic, rather than pencil whipping, has kicked in!
She claimed on CNN today that the Dems lost the house because of.... wait for it..... Bush.
The lies, fraud, and corruption associated with DeathCare must be exposed. We The People are angry now; rage will follow when the truth about this power-grab and plotted Holocaust is made known. Zero can veto the bill all he wants and Reid can play his sleaze bag games in the Senate, but, IMO, the country will erupt when their dirty secrets are exposed. What’s in this disastrous bill will help us clean the DC sewer in 2012. Politicians in office today, who knew about the fraud, should be indicted and forced out of office or recalled. It’s time to start calling DC 24/7 demanding full disclosere of everything in ObamaCare. I think we can all agree that our very lives depend on it. Rationed care results in lives lost.
Repealing the bill would also eliminate $770 billion in taxes
what are those taxes?
They are sick.
As Tony Snow used to say... “Delicious!”
LMAO!
The lying fasscists have been all over the news whining about the promised bill to repeal obastard care as meaningless, symbolic, etc., and that the CBO numbers from when they submitted and passed the bill (with their cooked numbers) show big savings, touting the old CBO numbers over and over. Congresswoman Bernice what’s-her-name from MD was just on touting that POS bill. Weiner, Schumer and others have been all over the place running their lying mouths about the cost.
Now this comes out. I’ve been wondering if and when somebody was going to submit the real numbers to CBO and get a somewhat accurate idea of the horrific costs of this abomination. Maybe Paul Ryan or somebody else wrote a bill or requested a new analysis from the CBO in connection with the bill to repeal.
At any rate, the rats have been all over the place lying their asses off about the cost in the last couple days so I’ll take that to mean they were already aware of this report and tried to get ahead of its release with a blanketing of the air waves with their lies.
I’ve got some faith in Paul Ryan and some of the others to not shoot themselves in the foot.
But can they get a broad enough venue and a loud enough voice to shout over the slimestream media and their lying, fascist darlings in congress is the question.
They want that tax money so they can hand it out to their pet groups so they can get some of it back in the form of campaign contributions in order to seal their power as the ruling party in perpetuity.
That’s all this was ever about. Redistribute the wealth by taking it from the middle class and giving it the ne-er do wells and taking their cut in the process.
It’s no different from the way the Mafia operated for years. It’s just a big shakedown.

What did the CBO do wrong?
Belated thanks !
Not just jobs - whole businesses, and possibly whole industries.
obastardcare is suicide, just as intended.
******in an email to Capitol Hill staffers
..Repealing the bill would also eliminate $770 billion in taxes. It’s the tax hikes

Note that this was sent to STAFFERS, the general pubic left out!
Vampire-Care is and always is about LEVERAGING revenue, leaving themselves EXEMPT.... no matter the trick legalese language for “revenue”, for the Beltway pensions plus.
Revenue on steroids, anytime, anyone, anywhere. They of course exempted themselves.
Added to the weight of evidence that they are as dependable and faithful as a call girl.
I’m not convinced the author understands the function and restrictions under which the CBO operates.
In essence, the author slams the CBO for not applying political theory to the tasks before them. The CBO cannot use theoretical persuasions in their calculations, nor should we want them to.
The entity that should be condemned by the Cato Institute author is congress as a whole and the individual congressmen who submit bills with cooked numbers and incomplete/skewed/falsified data to them. That’s the form in which political theory and objectives enter (and taint) the CBO’s accounting reports, and it’s created by the snakes that are known as “staffers” to these congressmen. This has been going on for decades.
The follow up to what happens in the House is going to be very interesting ...and IMPORTANT.
If the House republicans present good arguments for the repeal and then Senate democrats try to counter their arguments we have an opportunity to make an issue of their partisan destructiveness. The media will try to avoid obvious disparities in the democrat positions.
A Challenge to Cut Spending
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zn2JDR1Dkk
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-6) called for serious efforts to cut federal spending during a debate with Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-NY) Thursday night on Hannity on FOX News.
But but, but, the commies said that ending Obamacare would raise the deficit!
