John Edwards has proposed to his mistress Rielle Hunter, The National Enquirer reported Thursday.
A source told the tabloid that the disgraced former senator asked Hunter to marry him shortly after issuing a statement last year admitting that he was the father of her daughter, Frances Quinn.
Edwards, a one-time presidential candidate, "is buying a luxury $3.5 million beachfront home where they can live happily ever after with their love child," the Enquirer said.
The couple will wed this summer, according to the tabloid.
It was the Enquirer that first broke the story of the affair between Edwards and Hunter, who worked on his presidential campaign. The Huffington Post pointed out that while the Enquirer accurately reported the romance, the publication posted a nearly identical story last year about a planned Edwards-Hunter wedding -- which was later denied.

Yeah, that’s the thing. I would assume the two youngest would have to live with John and Rielle. I’m sure that had to be on Elizabeth’s mind before she died, that her kids would have to be raised by that woman. The poor kids. They lose their mom, and they have to live with the woman who their dad cheated on their sick and dying mom with. Apparently, (no shocker) Rielle didn’t like Elizabeth; she said something about “negative energy” around her. The irony is astounding. I wonder how she’ll treat the kids.
Oh my goodness! I shared a birthday with Elizabeth Edwards, though she was four years older. I never knew that!
The only thing worse would have been to divorce her just before she died.

I just had a Newt Gingrich flashback!
That’s the truth
Cue the old crone from The Princess Bride or Ellen from the Pillars of the Earth. They knew how to pass judgment upon a bad marriage.
Edwards is a scum bag, but this is old news exhumed by AOL News or the Enquirer.
Somebody cue that little emoticon that pukes.... cause I think I’m gonna puke and I HATE to puke alone.
