Apple is telling us that the apps' content is considered "likely to expose a group to harm" and "to be objectionable and potentially harmful to others." Inasmuch as the Manhattan Declaration simply reaffirms the moral teachings of our Christian faith on the sanctity of human life, marriage and sexual morality, and religious freedom and the rights of conscience, Apple's statement amounts to the charge that our faith is "potentially harmful to others."

He TOLD ME THIS!
Such a wonderful ‘dude.’
Happy it made you smile/laugh.
Happy New Year!
That's why.
Do you ever LISTEN to the show?
Only his father was Syrian. His mother was Joanne Schieble.
I see someone else has been reading some “logical apologetics”... :)
:)
I suspected as much.
But then the Christians are the oppressive majority and associated with right wing Republicans and the Manhattan Declaration would be considered an instrument of the Christian Right.
What always surprises me however is that Muslims are much more intolerant about homosexuality, womens rights, gay marriage or any number of Left wing hot button issues.
Yes, there are better strategies. I just did a search in the Apple App Store on the word "Bible". Scores of apps popped up. I stopped counting at 90 and there were lots more listed.
I also did a search on the word "Christian". Again lots of apps popped up, including:
The Christian Broadcasting Network, Radio & TV
Christian Creeds
Christian Classics Ethereal Library (lots of apps for this one)
C.S. Lewis quotes and many of his other books
Christian eCards - lots of these
LifeWay Christian Resources
Christian Prayer Journal
There are lots of apps for Christians in the Apple App Store.
One rejected app does not negate a good policy of vetting apps before allowing them in the store. It is unreasonable to become indignant over the rejection of one app when so many Christian resources are available in the App Store.
Apple also rejects pornography apps.
You have to remember, lies are the left's native language. They inherited this tendency from their ideological father mentioned in John 8:44.
It's not that they oppose religion, they oppose Christianity.
All those other subjects are just their "cover" issues for opposing Christian beliefs.
Strange. I have a free Holy Bible from the app store. And there’s several Holy Bible’s versions available in the iBookstore.
Without knowing the full extent of the app is question, I can’t comment on that specific app, but to say Apple doesn’t allow Christian themed apps or books is not true.
My ‘Droid doesn’t give me any BS about that ...
Jus’ sayin’ ...
You’re probably stuck in a contract with AT&T, so boycott threats are probably empty.
Well and good, but the Manhattan people have tried twice and been rejected twice, so we are reasonably sure it not just a mistake. Furthermore, they do specifically identify the Manhattan app as “harmful to others” in a sociological sense. So the question is why? How does Apple find harm in a short statement affirming a few basic Christian values, yet finds no harm in an entire Bible that says the same thing, or hundreds of perhaps more devotional Christian apps? I postulate it is the product of two things. First, because the Manhattan app is NOT a whole Bible, it is easy for a casual user to go directly to the “offensive” material. Second, the Manhattan app explicitly encourages transforming Christian moral convictions into direct political action. Unlike the purely devotional religionists all huddled harmlessly around their sacred books, this kind of talk is inherently dangerous to the regime and its cronies. Therefore Apple, being of like mind, finds itself intolerant of such “extremism.” It is so deeply warped. What times we live in ...
Well.
I was considering an Apple computer in the future. And have been tolerating a work iPhone. Now reticence now to forget the Mac and push for a Droid.
How can otherwise intelligent people like him piss on 80% of our American population with no apparent concern?
I stand corrected.
I am amazed that he pumps up anything, repeatedly, for free.
As you have said on this thread, "A moral system is incoherent if it is logically unsustainable. If the first premise of morals is 'do no harm,' " Apple has decided, based on their ethical and moral considerations, that the app in question could "do some harm". Therefore, being logically consistent, they have rejected the app.
Unlike the purely devotional religionists all huddled harmlessly around their sacred books, this kind of talk is inherently dangerous to the regime and its cronies.
"The regime of its cronies"? First, Apples is not a regime, it's a computer company. And second, a crony is a long lasting friend. Surely a sound moral system wouldn't be against friendship.
Therefore Apple, being of like mind, finds itself intolerant of such extremism. It is so deeply warped. What times we live in ...
This is making a mountain of a mole hill.
>>>>You should ping Sword swallower or what-ever-the-hell his FR handle is and get his apple sauce reaction.
If you’re going to defame someone, you should at least get their name right.
On the incoherence of the left, we agree completely.
Not if you're the Manhattan Project trying to get your message out.
So it really doesn't bother you that Apple thinks Christian morality is harmful?
And what are their "ethical and moral considerations," as you call them? What harm are they supposedly preventing? Is a "moral system" obsessed with a delusional fear of traditional, rational sexual mores really logical? Define logical. I'm curious.
As for "regime," you misunderstand me. I never said Apple was a regime. I am referring to the broader leftist movement currently attempting to smother American freedom. Apple isn't the regime; it's just one of the cronies. Cronyism is not so much friendship as a kind of calculated collusion aimed at coercing the peasants to mind their place and do what they're told. Not the sort of thing I would have thought a person with your moniker would approve of. Who knew?
Sword swallower seems to have struck a popular mark though, judging from the responses to my post, both public and private. Doesn't that just gall you? People here having enjoyment that I wrote Sword swallower rather than swordmaker.
BTY, I did advise the OP to ping him/it/whatever - I just could not remember him/it/whatever’s name.
Thank you so very much for reminding me what Mr. applesauce's FR handle is.
I am most grateful for your diligence.
My true opinion of swordmaker (if that really is him/it/whatever’s name) is that him/it/whatever is a ‘bot or a ‘droid and replies in the positive any time ‘Apple’ is mentioned in text. It is this reason that many applesauce fans are at odds with the record company Apple.
Think about it: someone writes a derogatory review of a Beatle album and the applesauce 'droid/'bots reply:' you obviously do not understand the O.S. which is superior to mankind itself!'
Just my humble opinion.
You are a real sport for helping, Keith in Iowa.
A real sport.
Sorry if I was a bit tough on you. Thanks for the response.
Happy New Year!
