Peace groups outside the main gate of Beale Air Force Base today are protesting the treatment of the private suspected of handing secret reports over to WikiLeaks.
They are also calling on military personnel at the base to resist war and the use of the drones.
Protesters from Veterans for Peace, CodePINK and other groups are asking for "basic constitutional principles and human rights" be extended to Pfc. Bradley Manning.
Manning is suspected of downloading thousands of secret reports and diplomatic cables and handing them over to WikiLeaks.
The protesters are encouraging members of the military at the base near Marysville to support Manning "for revealing the truth to the world community about the failed war of terror," said Toby Blome of CodePINK in a press release.
Manning is being held in solitary confinement at the Quantico Marine Base in Virginia on charges that could lead to a 52-year prison sentence.

He should be at Guantanamo with all the other America-hating terrorists. But then, so should Code Pink.
The DABs (Dumb-assed Bitches) are meeting again,I see...
These people are not members of “peace groups”. They are leftists. They espouse collectivism, not “peace”.
Gee, I guess the Russian treatment of Somali Pirates would really upset them.

BTW, not my blog.
Major reality disconnect. Take the war-related content out of the issue entirely, such as the helicopter video. Remove the material that could constitute whistle blowing on possibly illegal government actions.
You’re still left with Manning having released thousands of classified diplomatic cables that could potentially threaten relations with various countries and get people killed.
Wow, they attracted a big crowd, eh?
“basic constitutional principles and human rights” be extended to Pfc. Bradley Manning.

The Constitution says Manning, when found guilty of treason shall be put to death.
If this was a Tea Party rally with a few people, they would have rented a helicopter and zoomed way out.
Were it to ever actually happen, I’d drink to that.
While PFC Manning deserves to be put up against the wall and shot, I am concerned about how a lowly PFC was apparently able access to that vast array of secret communications including diplomatic communications and easily make copies. Secrecy depends on giving information only those who need to know. In this case a huge amount of US secrets must be very poorly stored and not restricted in access. It also begs the question about who gave Manning security clearance and how much did his background get investigated. This all shows a fundamental breakdown of US security.
Code PINKO COMMIE the Pelosi voters!
So what else would they be doing all two fo them.
I agree with you.
Hang Manning, but ruthlessly investigate his superiors.
I’m such an idiot.
Here I am trying to get ahead by working hard and obeying the law.
What I really need to do is break the law and become a liberal hero. Then I’d be rich and have an easy life.
Oh well - just another day in Obamaland.
If guilty of this crime...this man should be put to death. treason knows no other punishment unless spineless liberals WANT him alive to promote their agendas against the death penalty. Disgruntled about DADT is not an issue to even be suggested though it shows the power of a cause when the public does not shame it for what it is.
Just because the traitor is a queer is no reason he shouldn’t be confined for at least 30 years and if his action has cost lives, he should serve life in a cell alone or face the firing squad.
Looks like Protest Warriors were at it again.
And Protest Warrior's blog> has great music.
