NOAA's Catch Shares Fisheries Debacle (attacks on food supplies ramp up)
American Thinker ^ | December 23, 2010 | Mike Johnson

Posted on 12/27/2010 6:12:57 PM PST by Ron C.

Barrack Obama came to office with an agenda to fundamentally change America.  An element of his agenda is a plan, known as catch shares, to restructure the nation's fishing industry.  The author of his plan is Dr. Jane Lubchenco, the environmentalist rock star and former vice chairperson of the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).  When it comes to the oceans, the protection of fish, and the punishment of the evil fishermen, Dr. Lubchenco is as extreme as Obama's former green jobs czar, Van Jones.

Obama, with no managerial experience himself, didn't simply make Dr. Lubchenco one of his numerous czars -- he anointed her as the head of NOAA despite her own complementary lack of managerial experience.  Effectively, Obama has given the EDF control of the $4-billion, 13,000-person government agency that oversees the national fisheries.

“You can bet your bottom doughnut that industrial aquaculture is behind this little scam.”

Which doesn’t do so well in the temps we’ve been seeing this past month.

In the Wa fisheries in the 70s we did that and 20+ guys went to the Federal slammer for the crime of fishing, much to the amazement of the hardened imates.

They absolutely believe we are over populated. They are sincere believers - the kind of thinking that in the 20th century produced people who knowingly and willingly killed millions.

Let’s not exaggerate. The average price per gallon across the U.S. was $1.81 the week of Jan. 26, 2009, when Obama was inaugurated.

It’s now moving toward $3.00 nationally. It’s over $3.00 in Chicago.

That’s a 66% increase which is miserable enough without exaggeration. Let’s not give Snopes an excuse to call this “false” when the truth hurts bad enough.

denying water to California's San Joaquin Valley, long known as our ‘nations breadbasket,’ effectively killing tens of thousands of farms - we already face threatened food shortages in this nation.

Oh it brings a tear to my eye (tears of joy)when I think of all those Californians who voted for their very special POS....zer0bama.

DUDE! Actions have consequences!

No not true. It’s not triple Jan. 2009 = $1.81. Triple would be $5.43.

That might be the goal, but we’re not there yet. If we get there you can imagine what 2012’s election results will be.

Hyperbole is our enemy. The truth always works.

Nope, it’s about control and capitalism is the front for right of center people and environmentalism is the front for the left of center people.

We’ll all be worse off in the end.

One of the things you won't see in the news is how they pit fisherman against fisherman, even on smaller scale, State fisheries management levels.

That's their M.O. divide and conquer. They push it between men and women, races, ethnicity, languages, parents and children, young and old - it's the Devil's Playground and they love division and the divisiveness it brings.

Never waste a crisis and create one if one isn't available.

We need a return to a culture of merit not politics.

I am not very smart I guess but I have never been able to understand why anyone would put their trust in government. Even the slightest knowledge of history is enough to inform anyone that government is NEVER to be trusted. It is human nature that those who crave power are willing to go to any length imaginable to seize power while most of those who don’t crave power just want to be allowed to live and let live. The balance of motivation is always on the side of evil in government. The white knight on the charger who is eager to risk his own life in the selfless pursuit of justice for his fellow man is never in abundance, there are plenty of pretenders like Al Gore but they are more destructive by far than those who openly display their lust for power.

It seems so simple! Why can’t people grasp it?

0bama’s DREAM is to invoke a Government that is the center of EVERYTHING in all people’s lives.

Then his Party can pick and chose the winners and loser in the new Patronage System based on really significant things like Social Justice, their own perceived damage to the Environment, who is most connected into the Left Wing of America, etc. Labor Unions will be at the front of that line and then so-called minority groups will be next.

Keynesianism, Socialism, Marxism, Obamunism, whatever - it all turns on the main cog of Complete Government Control of Everything.

There’s really no denying this as the main objective of their Strategy, because its a fact and this WILL BE the America of your children’s future.

Who is the hippie
That’s hap’nin’ all over our town
A tearin’ up the chicks
With the message that he lays down.

Oh, who is the coolest cat
What is, what am
I said fast talkin’, slow walkin’
Smooth talkin’ Mohair Sam.

There are big aquaculture operations in South America.

BTW, I once noted Tyson making a grant to PCFFA, one of the most important green groups on the West Coast involved in listing anadromous fish (which do just fine in cold water). When I posted it here with the link, they had the notice down in a day.

Idiots. They should have known enough to launder their money through Tides first. Drummond Pike says he has squeaky clean books.

There’s an instructive book titled “The Story of the Secret State” by Jan Karski, head of the Polish underground. It lays out in detail how the occupying Nazi forces were nuetralized and how to make appeasers “ineffective.”

How are they expected to convince us people need to be killed, unless we are starving and inclined believe the world cannot support the costly unborn, disabled, elderly, healthcare costly...who are eating the productive workers’ food - kill the food hogs! In a true socialist society, like Europe, a death of one elderly parasite is a palpable gain for the entire community.
