President Obama's repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is already damaging the U.S. military.
An Army lieutenant colonel has asked to be relieved of command rather than order his troops to go through pro-homosexual indoctrination following the repeal of the policy, which required homosexuals to keep silent about their sexual preference.
Currently the commander of a battalion-sized unit in the Army National Guard, the officer also has threatened to resign his commission rather than undergo "behavior modification" training intended to counter his religious convictions about homosexuality.

Don't know if it will happen but it will change things if it does.
My great fear is that it will be years before these changes begin having widespread battlefield consequences, years before a solid momentum to reinstate DADT manifests itself, and more years still until this madness is overturned.
And in the meantime, soldiers will needlessly die, careers will be ruined and our Nation will be at far greater risk.

You’re right. Never been in the military. Signed up for the Air Force but broke my leg between here and there. What’s your point? My response was clear.

Adversity employs great talents; prosperity renders them useless and carries the inept, the corrupted wealthy and the wicked to the top
May they bear in mind that virtue often contains the seeds of tyranny
May they bear in mind that it is neither gold nor even a multitude of arms that sustains a state but its morals
May each of them keep in his house, in a corner of this field, next to his workbench, next to his plow, his gun, his sword, and his bayonet
May they all be soldiers
May they bear in mind that in circumstances where deliberation is possible, the advice of old men is good but that in moments of crisis youth is generally better informed that its elders

maybe the military itself will force congress to investigate Obama’s eligibility to be CiC?

Let’s establish two armies - one with obuma as supreme butt sniffer and the other with combat trained men. Then let’s meet on the battlefield and see who wins.

I'm strongly hoping (very strongly) that the incoming Rs in the House have GUTS and do something - whatever they can do - to stop this madness. Procedural, funding, whatever! There must be some things they can do.

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.
Brave men like these deserve our strong and loud support.
Most officers will cram this right up the butts of our troops. Some are decent and will refuse.

Maybe not most. We will see. And maybe the R majority House will do something to drag it out, not fund it, etc.
***Incredible. They already have the training programs in place?***
No, we don’t. We have been instructed to continue in business until the DoD “certifies” that the repeal of DADT won’t affect combat readiness. Once that is rubber stamped we will be indoctrinated.
This would be great if there was a mass revolt
Obammy should be run out of office by a military coup
Agreed.
Merry Christmas
Thank you very much, and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well :-)
I am VERY pleased the officer is standing up for, and abiding by, his principles. Unless the gays all leave, or DADT is restored, I would recommend that EVERY soldier, sailor, and airman of any rank resign his post, turn in his gear, and leave his base within the next 30 days. They can’t MAKE you stay, when they have changed the rules of the game, and perverted the fundamental contract between the soldier and the Services.
It’s gonnna be a Homo Hoedown!
WHO willl submit to a draft, into a cesspool of a gay bathhouse “military”?
“Its only been 3 days. Enlisted men can’t resign.”
I would support the resignation of ANY enlisted personnel over THIS. After all, the Armed Services have let women and gays resign, and get an Honorable Discharge, any time they stated they couldn’t handle it any more. And here, the Fed.gov is changing the rules of the game - they are violating the employment contract, in effect.
