So maybe a Kid ‘n Trade market will be opened up. Those who want and can afford more can buy the little carbon-consumer credits. It’ll all work out to 2.3 or 3 or whatever.

So is it selfish to have fewer than the maximum number you can support?

...you can't get rid of the electoral college without amending the Constitution. Good luck with getting three quarters of the states to agree. They have a scheme of states pledging their electoral votes according to the winner of the national popular vote, but it hasn't advanced that far yet, IIRC, less than a dozen states are amenable to that

All of them solid blue states whose presidential votes automatically go to Democrats anyway.

"They have a scheme of states pledging their electoral votes according to the winner of the national popular vote."

That will last until the first time that a Republican wins the national popular vote. Then we will be able to watch them squirm to find reasons that they can't do that.

The new congressional districts are drawn by the state legislatures and most of those are now controlled by the GOP.

The electoral college only has meaning in a presidential election. How do you claim a state has been ignoring it when that is the number of votes that state gets to cast?

They can divide up their votes any way they want without defeating the electoral college.

In my opinion, each state should divide up their electoral college votes the way the vote splits in the State. If 40% of California votes for a republican, 40% of their electoral votes should count republican. And for all states the same way.

Egads, is there a right number, somewhere in the middle, that unselfish people have?

I think we all agreed on 2.3 kids in the 80s. For white people. For others, 6 or 7 is the guideline.

Well that’s a good thing. I’m just finding it hard to be ooptimistic when I look at all that’s happening and we have to depend on a frightened, spineless Republican party. Maybe the newly elected teapartiers will light a fire.

I guess since North Carolina threw out the Democrats in their local dominence last month the Census Burea wanted to not reward them with a represenative.

I have a very hard time accepting California did not lose a rep (due to the mass exodus out of the state) and that North Carolina did not get one rep. That seems extremely fishy to me.

Doesn't matter in the “racist” South—Obama & his DOJ will gerrymander our new districts into Dem majorities under the “Voting Rights Act.”.

“I have a very hard time accepting California did not lose a rep (due to the mass exodus out of the state)”

That was why there was such a push for illegals to participate; it worked.

The numbers don’t lie. People are having fewer and fewer children, and any increase in numbers is coming from immigration, both legal and illegal, with possibly illegal being the primary factor.

Americans are now having fewer children than replenishment. If things continue like this, we’ll be having all the same problems as Europe.

Do I think that’s due to selfishness? Yes, I do.

Do you think the muslims are “replenishing”? Yes, they are. By about 3x per generation.

Unless we get a clue, we are going to DIE.

So please, get off your high horse.

“They have a scheme of states pledging their electoral votes according to the winner of the national popular vote”

This constitutes a treaty among states. In a sane world, this would clearly be ruled unconstitutional. Barry has just about taken care of that with his judicial appointments.

You accuse those who have fewer children than you think they should have of being selfish—and then go on to accuse me of being on a high horse?

I’ve no further comment.

I haven’t done the math; but, I’m almost positive that would have meant ‘President Kerry’ and ‘President Gore’.

Soros now the names of the states he needs to target. I heard awhile back that he has already started a “Texas Project” like his CO project.

Do the math.

More of the bigger electoral vote state have bigger cities and tend to go Democrat. 40% of CA and NY.

I am on a very low horse sir. I am on a very small and humble horse that is saying "can't we please get back up to replenishment levels?".

You are on a high horse that says "I feel condemned by what you say and I don't like it. Don't you tell me what to do - I'll do what I like"
