I think the ironic celebration of the holidays in the form of gaudy Christmas sweaters is kind of lame. But one Virginia high schools punishment of a group that called themselves the Christmas Sweater Club just seems ridiculous, even by oversensitive public school standards.
Ten students at Battlefield High School in Manassas, Virginia faced detention and other punishment as a result of their involvement in the Christmas Sweater Club.
One of the students involved told WUSA that the school said they were maliciously wounding other kids.
The Club believes that the accusation stems from them throwing candy canes to other students at the halls.
Another club member told WUSA that an administrator told him that the candy canes could be used as weapons by sucking on them and making them have sharp points. The student said that no one had done that [ED. NOTE: Presumably because this isn't "OZ" and most high school aged kids tend not to need to shiv someone in the cafeteria].
When reached for comment, school principal Amy Etheridge-Conti said they did more than hand out candy and cheer, but she refused to comment specifically on the matter.
So in summary, no one involved seems to know what they did wrong. And it couldnt be THAT serious, i.e. they didnt viciously sodomize freshman boys in the locker room while wearing Christmas sweaters, since they only got detention and clean-up duty. Unless sodomizing freshman boys is so common at this high school that its now a slap on the wrist punishment. Hmm. Whats your deal, Battlefield High School?
Doesn’t this school principal qualify for the “Village Idiot of the Year” award?
The leftists need to be confronted with the fact that
they don’t oppose “religion”
they oppose Christianity.
It just goes from rediculous to degrading - but all of this crappola stands as a threat. Fight back; that is all one can do and must do. These ‘suberts’ cannot win.
oops; typo alert. ..subverts works better/
That cat does not look like he is feeling the Christmas spirit! I think he’s plotting revenge on whoever forced him to wear the sweater :)
Most of the real violence, especially gang related,
is done by minorities,
and punishment of that activity would be inherently racist and insensitive.
I think April is actually the month with the highest rate of suicides.
administrator called her and explained that, not everyone wants Christmas cheer. That suicide rates are up over Christmas, and that they should keep their cheer to themselves, perhaps.
That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. To think these are the people in charge of teaching kids.
List of Proper sweaters allowed according to principal Amy Etheridge-Conti:
1) Mao sweaters
2) A sweater depicting Christ in a jar of urine
3) Any Sweater celebrating the religion of peace
4) Che Sweaters
5) of course, an Obama sweater is always permitted.
6) Anti-war sweaters
7) Red Sweaters with a hammer and sickle—those are not weapons, by the way, but tools of the oppressed.
8) A sweater with a decapitated Sarah Palin
9) A sweater stating —spreading of wealth is good for society
10) Any pro-choice sweater
Since this is the DC area, Redskin sweaters are prohibited due to offending Native Americans.
“Noel” means GOOD NEWS!
And what is that good news?
“unto you a Savior is born!”
"MI EYEZ SHOOTIN DETH RAYZ AT YUR CHRISTMAS CLOTHEZ."
we need email and phone numbers.......
It take a village to raise an idiot.
The candy canes contain a subversive subliminal message, and this principal was just fighting it.
Christmas Candy Cane Poem
Look at the Candy Cane
What do you see?
Stripes that are red
Like the blood shed for me
White is for my Savior
Whos sinless and pure!
J is for Jesus My Lord, thats for sure!
Turn it around
And a staff you will see
Jesus my shepherd
Was born for Me!
