Christmas trees 'make non-Christians feel excluded'
Christmas trees should be removed from public places to avoid making non-Christians feel “excluded”, scientists have suggested

Researchers at Simon Fraser University in Canada, found non-Christians feel less self-assured and have fewer positive feelings if a Christmas tree was in the room.
The scientists conducted the study using 77 Christians and 57 non-believers, including Buddhists and Sikhs.
The participants did not know the survey was about Christmas, and were asked to fill in questions about themselves both when a 12-inch Christmas tree was in the room and when it was not.
"Non-celebrators" reported fewer positive feelings and less self-assurance in the Christmas room. Christians were mostly cheered by the tree.
Christians, however, did report feeling more guilt when a tree was in the room, which, claim the researchers, suggests the holidays can be stressful.

You beat me to it! I was just getting ready to say, “If Christmas trees make you sad, then why don’t we chug on over to namby-pamby land where we can find some self-confidence for you!”
No, if Ramadan offends you, you obviously are a racist Islamophobe and must undergo government-mandated re-education to cure you of your bigotry and biases.

I called this. Next it will be a criminal defense when terrorists blow up Christmas tree lighting ceremonies because they “felt excluded.”

From what I’ve read, it was about 4BC.
The discrepancy is due to a miscalculation in the Roman Calendar.
This does NOT take away from the fact that His birth divided human history into “before” and “after”.

Indeed, when one hates and lives in a world of hate, he or she feels excluded when love is expressed. These people are crazy and bite feeding hands, vicious.
I am having some trouble seeing how feeling guilty can cheer me up.

Guilt is a good sign. It may mean people recognize the Christian nature of the Christmas tree and their consciences are still in working order.
Preparation for Christmas should involve both expectant joy but also penitence.
Or maybe people were thinking of all the presents they had yet to buy.

Yes, there is one in our church, along with a nativity scene in the back of the church.
Not pagan - It’s been used to celebrate Christmas for hundreds of years.
I think it is high time Obama appointed a “Feelings” Czar. His job would be to enforce current feelings laws and oversee implementation of new ones.
The Christmas tree symbolizes everlasting life to me. Evergreens don’t “die” in winter so I see life in them.
Same thing at Easter. All the little baby chiks and bunnies symbolize new life and new beginnings.
I don’t really care if they offend people or not.
