Years ago, when I was younger and — argueably — more foolish than now, I loved a lady. We had a young daughter and had started another child. I was looking forward with happy anticipation to that second child but my lady was not. Instead, she saw that child as an embarassment to be avoided so she chose to abort it. Of course, I had no say in the matter — the father never does — so I sat at home with our daughter, watching the clock and waiting.

Since then, I have learned of a man and a woman whose son was condemned to death for a terrible murder. They too sat home, watching the clock and dying inside. I think I know how they must have felt.

Today I sat at my computer, watching the vote in the Senate with much the same feeling of dread and overwhelming sadness at the impending doom of our country.

Oh, I know that the end of DADT won’t kill America but with the Healthcare monstrosity, which will never be repealed, only “modified”, plus all the lesser bills, rules and regulations already in the pipeline to “fundamentaly change America”, the greatest country in the history of the world will, within a generation, be reduced to third-world status alongside such luminaries as Kenya, Bangladesh and Haiti. By that point we may be reduced to asking for aid from the likes of France and Italy.

I think I’ve lived too long.

Basically the military considers all recruits as gays who need to become real soldiers and men, but this means this policy is done.

I know some gay but manned up soldiers who are mad as hell their new peers will have to be “respected”, treating them as if they had to play the begging dogs.

The liberal power fantasy goes on to its destruction.

Being ex military I don’t think this is the catastrophe many would believe except in a political way (it’s a loss for our side and yes the American people). Soldiers have their own way of handling these things and those of you who served well know what I mean.

Well, this gives the Taliban and Al Qaeda something else to be pissed off at us about. If I were still in the military, I’d make sure that they’d never capture me alive.

The whole meme about a ban is BS, there was NO ban, only requirement was to keep their mouth shut about where they want to stick it.

Why do the Republicans always let the dimwits control the dialogue?

If I was soldier, I could live with the knowledge someone was gay. I don’t care if they’re doing it, as long as they don’t make it MY business. Live and let live.

When they reveal the vote tally we need to keep a record so we know who to hold accountable when the gay lobby lawsuits start flying because someone was reprimanded for having sex in the shower or showing up in drag at the Px while off duty.

I am late but was going to put up the Christmas Tree and decorations this weekend. Won’t bother now. Just the Nativity scene. I’m now rebelling against all aspects of secularized, paganized, no-longer-Christian AMeRiKa.

To the Republicans and Democrats who voted yes for this bill, you have been warned: You will lose your seat at the election in 2012. (To those who are not up for election in 2012 --> an elephant never forgets.)

To Obambi: If you sign this bill, you, too, will lose your seat in 2012.

Your sin: You have disrespected the very people who have been the backbone of your freedoms.

I am involved now. I NEVER lose. --> Just ask John Kerry (2004)

When I was in the military (before DADT) I served with a few gays. Good guys, all of them, and good sailors. I had a gay corpsman cut a chunk of mangled arm off me and sew it up really well.

However, none of these guys put their sexuality out in the open. I liked to think of it as “don’t care, don’t tell.”. I’m more than a little worried that now there going to be gay pride parades on military bases. Seriously.

This isn’t undermining our military? Guess who provided Assange with all the Wikileaks data...a poor confused gay boy...this is phony politics geared at destroying those who risk their lives and give their lives to defend the country...now with the legalizing of sodomy and bestiality in our military, we’ll see what the brave men and women who serve will be focused on...fighting wars or fighting perversion in the ranks. Our politicians are fools. They will rue the day that they let this happen. Our military has just been weakened. That’s what Obama wanted. The weaker the military the easier it will be for the socialists to take over the country...why with gays at the helm of the military they may turn on the straight citizens, wouldn’t they...?

I spent most of my adult life in the military. I’m not at all thrilled at the news, but we’ve survived other attacks on the institution, I’m sure that we’ll survive this.

Final passage Saturday afternoon was 65-31.

So we most certainly have documented proof that we have 65 heretics in the Senate. I really feel sorry for the Marines and other military men and officers that will take the brunt of this vile law. ...very sad day for our military and our country.

In principle, I don’t care if gays serve or not, and actually think DADT was a good compromise.

However, now that it has been over-turned, this is going to open a whole can of worms:

Federally recognized gay marriage in the military, death and spousal benefits, bringing homos from overseas as life partners, open gay housing on military barracks with gay couples living like married couples and everything that goes along with it.

Plus, if being gay is the same thing as being heterosexual in terms of sexuality, why would straight men or women want gays ogling them all the time?

Are we going to do away with separation of male and female quarters also and have just have one big happy non-genderized love fest?

The military’s object is to defend the United States; it isn’t about despicable liberal social engineering and turning our culture upside down in deference to cultural Marxism.
