Reid threatens to keep Congress into next year (New spending bill totals $575.13 million per page.)
Washington Post ^ | 12/14/2010 | Stephen Dinan

Forget about going quietly into the night.

Senate Democrats on Tuesday unveiled a broad agenda for an end-of-session sprint that, in other years, could be a whole year's worth of activity — ranging from an arms-reduction treaty with Russia to a major immigration bill to overturning the ban on gay troops.

And that's not to mention the nearly 2,000-page, $1.1 trillion massive spending bill Senate Democrats said they'll try to push through. The bill contains hundreds of pork-barrel spending projects and new rules governing everything from airport baggage to detainees at the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

"We're not through. Congress ends on Jan. 4," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat.

The omnibus spending bill is likely to get the most attention, spanning 1,924 pages and spending an average of $575.13 million per page.

It stands in contrast to the House, which last week passed a streamlined bill freezing fiscal 2011 government spending at 2010's level. The Senate bill, though, boosts spending by $16 billion — a tough sell at a time when deficits and debt already are dominating the policy debate in Washington.

So, hold them there. As far as I know, they have Christmas and New Year's in DC just the same as they do in the rest of the country.

I really wish I were a Republican Senator, just till Jan. 3rd at noon.

I would sooo much enjoy standing there and telling Dingy Harry that I was going to try my best to filibuster till Hell froze over, or until he ran screaming from the sound of my voice, whichever came first.

“That’s my intention,” said retiring Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) when asked if he would support the package. Bennett said earmarks in the bill might give some of his GOP colleagues reason to hesitate but wouldn’t affect his vote.

“It will be tough for some, but not for me,” he said.

"I got mine and I ain't giving it back", he added

Between this asshat and McLame, we are screwed.

People are angry enough at the crap that both parties have tacked onto the tax deal, and so you think it would be better for Republicans to wait until after this lame duck session to get a superior tax deal. But the next task after that will be more spending bills. I’m worried that Obama and other Dems will work out ways to get more spending concessions (ie still more rediculous deficit spending) from Republicans in order to get a tax deal passed next year. The Democrats always have a strategy even though it may not be workable, but you can’t say the same about the stupid party. With the press in their camp, there is no depth that Democrats won’t sink to in order to screw both the Republicans and the country at large.

These arrogant bastards hate you, hate your children, hate America and hate freedom. Until a stake is driven (figuratively, of course) through their marxist hearts they will continue to rape us. To hell with them. Merry Christmas!

RINOs ARE Democrats. They’ve successfully infiltrated our party under the guise of us having a “big tent” (while they, of course, feel no need at all for “diversity” within THEIR party).

Then again, they’ve also infiltrated our court system and schools. These are not just people with differing political opinions. They’re people with political positions which endanger our country.

And they WON’T stop pressing. They NEVER back down. They NEVER stop stealing, and they never EVER stop lying.

And with a handful of exceptions, the people who are supposed to be representing US act like a bunch of scared little girls, who are more interested in “getting along” than in stopping these evil bastards from destroying our country.

Same to you. The way to drive a stake through their heart is to stop passing these huge spending bills and to drastically shrink the bureaucracy and the pseudo-private activist organizations, unions, etc that live off taxpayer dollars. Starve the vampires.

From another source:

I am attaching a link to the upcoming appropriations/government spending bill. This bill is necessary because the Pelosi/Reid Congress failed to pass any of the required appropriations bills that fund our Federal Government. When you open the link, scroll down to the chart at the bottom. Click on any agency (i.e. Dept. of Agric.) earmark chart.... and strap on your seatbelt. You will see page after page of earmarks! There is a chart for each of the twelve appropriations bills. All together, these 12 bills make up the full funding of our government. This bill is necessary because the lame duck Congress passed a simple extension of the funding when they first convened the lame duck in mid-November. The funding expires Saturday, Dec. 18.

"In some cases the spending bill not only rejects President Obama's proposed cuts, it actually boosts spending."

We're being PLAYED by the left.
