Good for the trade deficit.

U.S. guns tied to crime south of border

And in other news, Mexicans tied to crime north of the border.

Well isn’t that funny/odd. I have all kinds of guns too but not one of them has been used in a crime. Funny how that whole “guns don’t kill pple, pple kill plle” works.... sarc/

This is from the Washington Post, not the New York Times. Also, where’s the customary ‘barf’ disclaimer?

No other state has produced more guns seized by police in the brutal Mexican drug wars than Texas. In the Lone Star State, no other city has more guns linked to Mexican crime scenes than Houston. And in the Texas oil town, no single independent dealer stands out more for selling guns traced from south of the border than Bill Carter.

So, NY Slimes, tell us again where the drug gangs are getting their full-auto weapons and hand grenades.

Hint - it ain't from Houston gun shops.

This is carefully worded to be accurate yet misleading - yes, for guns from the United States, this may be true - but how many of the drug gang weapons in Mexico are from other countries?

The NYT is like a 3-year-old with a new drum on Christmas -- they just can't stop beating it.

I bet most of those guns and parts for those guns originated somewhere else, like China and Eastern Europe, parts of Central and South America, and so on. I would further bet that the guns from the US that are going into Mexico are bought and smuggled by illegals. So send the illegals home, and Mexico’s gun problems will dry up, if you believe this fairytale in the first place.

How about this title? No other nation has supplied more weapons seized or used in all wars around the world than Russia. In second place would probably be the US govt, but no they want to dog pile on believers of the second amendment. Worry about the narco state of Mexico and the national dike that has been in desrepair for 40 years. Send the illegal home right in front of our troops invading Mexico, only to come home after the fence is up....on THEIR side of all navigable waterways.

Selective news reporting. Leave the rest of the world out and compare Texas, one of only four border states, to just U.S. states.

There's only one solution: Militarize the border and seal it tight. For the Mexicans' sakes, of course.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

So the problem is that the dealers are selling guns LEGALLY and then someone else is selling them ILLEGALLY and smuggling them ILLEGALLY into Mexico and using them in crimes.

I fail to see how the gun dealers are responsible for anything that the gun is used for once they legally leave the store.

no single independent dealer stands out more for selling guns traced from south of the border than Bill Carter.

In the past two years, more than 115 guns from his stores (4) have been seized by the police and military in Mexico.

..

Most experts and ATF officials agree that the majority of dealers are law-abiding.

Federal authorities say more than 60,000 U.S. guns of all types have been recovered in Mexico in the past four years

60,000 total recovered in 4 years and the largest number for any dealer (4 stores) was 115 for 2 years. Numbers make no sense, until you realize this is a total distortion of the facts by the press and the ATF. Both openly lie.

That “oil town” is the 4th larest city in the US and the largest city in Texas in proximity to Mexico (almost 2x population of San Antonio.

Carter’s is the largest firearm retailer in Houston.

Houston is a “sanctuary city” thanks its democrat mayoral regime, the democrats need to “legalize” more voters, and Bush’s apparently willful inaction on the border. It is over-run with illegals jamming the emergency rooms, clinics, freeways and public schools.

115 guns is a surprisingly low number.

Isn’t it illegal to own guns in Mexico? Another “gun free” zone.

How is it that they can tell where an illegal wepon in Mexico came from, but can’t trace an illegal Mexican in the US and tell us where he came from?
