...and I suggest you do the same.
Boehner is faced with either voting for a democrat tax "compromise" bill laden with pork and earmarks on everything from windmills to ethanol production, or throwing it out and starting over. If he votes to support it, he will have not only caved to a lame-duck democrat majority to lose the very first battle of the House, he will have shown the democrats that everything the American people voted for ends on the Capitol steps.
And that is the real issue. With a resounding cry of "ENOUGH!", Americans voted against business as usual in Washington this past month. We're waiting to see if we have to do it again with the next election cycle. If the Boehner-led republicans continue the fat-cat, backroom-deal making that got incummbent RINOs thrown out of office along with the democrat garbage, the republican party is toast.
Call (202) 225-3121 and ask for John Boehner's office to let him know how you feel about his consideration of rolling over in the first inning.
Got through. Very nice staffer. Said there were a lot of calls and interest in the bill.

To add insult to injury the portion addressing “hurricane Katrina improvements” from what I understand is addressing the washed out portion of the train tracks AMTRAK’s uses in its “Sunset Limited” (the Los Angelus to Orlando/) run in Louisiana and Alabama instead of that comming out of the “High Speed” rail Orlando/ Tampa proposed allocation.
And then there’s the handout to the rum producers of Puerto Rico.
We’d get a better “deal” when the new House gets sworn in.
Raise taxes and wait to get it right over a Stimulus II

I agree we need NEW Blood, I think the voting is done internal among the RINOs and we have NO control over that.
___________
I would like to see a break down of how who voted for leadership positions. I bet that is where the real deals are made.
“I would like to see a break down of how who voted for leadership positions. I bet that is where the real deals are made.”
I am sure it is done for “other” gains and not merit.
I got through to an answering machine, left a message, and called again a few minutes later. Spoke to a pleasant fellow, whom I told in no uncertain terms that this POS compromise will get this group of republicans thrown out just like the last bunch of RINOs.
Makes perfect sense Borrow money from China to fund unemployment, then purchase even more of their products.
Shopping at the company store is great, the deals are awesome.
Where do I sign?

The disconnect between the Washington royalty and mainstream Americans is unbelievable.
We have the entire country in an economic meltdown, we just had an election where the Americans said FOAD to the big-government liberal types... and the first damn bill to come out of DC is a backroom deal filled with the very same business-as-usual crap that is killing America.
Speaker of the House and other house officials are chosen by the Republican members of the House, in party caucus. There may or may not be a floor ceremony, but the real work is done behind closed doors.
Seniority is very important. Normally, whoever has seniority gets the job, unless they have been caught up in a really MAJOR scandal. Apparently killing American light bulbs is not considered a problem for leading the energy committee, and being the King of Pork is not a problem for leading the Pork Committee.
Problem is, we still don’t have an absolute majority of Tea Party folks in congress. And many or most of them are junior, so they don’t qualify for business as usual appointments.
We have to keep the pressure on, and if necessary throw a lot more of these guys out in 2012. Either that, or start a new party, as Sarah has said. Either the Republicans see the light, or they will simply have to be replaced, not by some third party but by a new, majority second party that takes their place.
Less than two years to see which way it goes. Reformed GOP, or dead GOP? We cannot wait any longer.
Where is the John Boehners Hell No ?
Im watching
If this passes the ‘Contract from America = toilet paper
We’re watching...
No he’s not for the DREAM act either. He voted against it last week and will vote against it again.
I can't believe the FReepers who get their shorts in a bunch over tears.
