TLC describes this week's episode as follows:
Sarah welcomes Kate Gosselin and her children to Alaska. To prepare for a camping trip with the kids, Sarah takes Kate to a bear safety class for rifle practice. Then Kate and the kids experience the wilderness braving the challenges of camping in Alaska....lol.

One thing was clear, Kate showed an admiration for Sarah in spite of her likely prejudice against her. She said some fairly humorous things as well. It's too bad she was too soft to stay over night, but she just wasn't cut out for that lifestyle. The rain made it much harder than normal.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this show, but I thought it was pretty good.

Truthfully, I think Kate was being pretty game for the majority of the episode—it was the freezing, raining, bug-filled, wilderness full of dangerous bears that got her to whining—can’t say that I wouldn’t have done the same thing if I’d never been camping before! And you have to give her *some* credit, she shot the darn rifle, pretty good, too, it seemed to me.
Sarah even pointed that out, saying if she were in NY on the red carpet where she wasn’t comfortable, that she’d probably want to get out of there asap as well! I thought Sarah and her family were very kind to Kate and reached out about and beyond to try to help her feel more comfortable—it wasn’t the people Kate was complaining about, but the surroundings, which honestly, were less than ideal for someone who’d never been camping before.

It's just a matter of time. The paparazzi follow the kids all over, even to the bus stop and photograph them. It's surprising the paparazzi didn't follow the family to Alaska.
Jon actually hired one of the paparazzi to be his bodyguard before he ran out of money. Kate has a bodyguard who used to work for politicians.
Their lives are out of control.
Indeed, Kate was awful and she knew she was being filmed!
She also knew that her every word was on tape, yet she said those mean and careless things to her children!
TLC needs to put an end to her pitiful series, if only to spare those precious children from further “fame.”
Sarah’s Dad is a delight to watch. He’s awesome. Hikes like he’s a man of fifty, not seventy-two!
She was joking, she laughed while she explained it...but the camera didn’t stay on her for long, so it sounded harsher than she meant it, I think.
UGH. Sickening. Time for all the Gosselin’s to go “normal,” although I think that’s the last thing Kate wants to do.
I was willing to cut her some slack, especially after she shot. But doggone it, she never ever cracked even the most minimal smile, looked dour from the very beginning, and was even inexplicably rude to the helicopter pilot who came to pick them up at the very beginning.
Someone at TLC goofed if thinking this would boost her ratings!
I guess so. I suppose in comparison, Sarah looks like an amazon next to her – as a matter of fact, Kate called her an amazon. And yes, the show was good as I said.

Yea, one of the highlights was when Sarah asked Piper if she wanted to go to the plane to see the Gosselins off. Mischievous look that said, "you gotta be kidding."
To clarify, he said...”off the plane”—not from the moment she entered the scene at the Palin home—

Actually, it’s *TLC’s* Kate Plus 8 page, Kate doesn’t frequent FB from what I’ve read and heard.
I have to admit I’m liking this too much each time Kate whines.
Did you notice Chuck Heath's comment? Kate's kids never complained.
Things are good here, we get to dig out of a fairly major snow storm first thing in the morning.
I have this great snowblower, it's a monster, chugs through a foot of snow and just says "meh, is that all you've got?" I named it after a medieval critter (out of an old epic poem). I'm thinking with your literary background you may be the only one who might guess......
