Obama says vote on tax deal crucial, has potential to create 'millions of jobs'
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says a congressional vote on the tax-cut deal he negotiated with Republicans will determine whether the nation's economy "moves forward or backward."
The president again pressed Congress to pass the agreement, saying it has the potential to create millions of jobs. He said if it fails, Americans would see smaller paychecks and it would result in fewer jobs.

But I thought Taxing the Rich and Raising Taxes on everyone else created Jobs?? Now you are telling us Tax Cuts Create Jobs?? Mr President please tell the TRUTH
Doggone it! It’s not a tax cut in any way, shape or form. It is simply maintaining the tax structure that has been in place since 2003.
It ain’t a tax cut!
this admin has some dandies ehh? i wonder when he’ll use, spend or prevent from being horded by the wealthiest amercians.
President Obama speaks highly of lower taxes. I think I have to have my ears and eyes checked.
Huh???? You mean lower taxes create jobs???? /s/
Yup. They must think we are idiots.
Then again, maybe we are.
“One million jobs!”
Dr. Evil

He didn’t claim the jobs would be in this country.
So basically he’s saying ‘Republican policies could yield millions of jobs’.. Right?
His party desperately desires to increase taxes during a Great Depression. Which of course, someone has finally told the Great Fool, will pull all the blinders off as the final supports give way...right during the start of his re-election campaign. Amazing what personal risk does to a politician. Even Obama can be made to see what the hell will happen when everyone gets a big pay cut next month.
All hell will break loose in the economy, which is exactly what his base (true communists and greens) wants - total collapse into mayhem, and they hope, finally true socialism and greentopia. No growth, forevermore.
And Obama isn't quite so personally reckless that he won't realize that this makes him the next LBJ...he can't run, the independents will join the conservatives and leave him grasping no more than a fifth of the total vote as the 20 percent leftist-green crazies run to Van Jones or Russ Feingold and the next Reagan landslide becomes inevitable.
Obama is weak and feckless - he courts the true crazy believers in 2008 and then his own policies create the crash they wanted...and the fool realizes then that what they all want finishes him electorally, not realizing it's way too late to run to the indedpendents for his own salvation. He's just a corrupt fool out for himself...like so many other garden-variety politicos.
You’re right and I am completely against this. I say stall, in January let the new house pass it without all the freebies for freeloaders in it. 13 months of unemployment? Are you kidding me? RIDICULOUS! Now the dimwit dims are adding more goodies to it. It’s a disaster.
So, did he say which part of this bill would create millions of jobs? If it’s the tax break for the ‘wealthy’ part it would appear that he’s been dead wrong all along.
By the way, the 2% reduction is SS seems like a really bad way to go, given that SS is going broke.
We still seem screwed.
No, no! He should go for the full monty, and say it will create or save TRILLIONS of jobs!

So, extending the Bush Tax Cuts for the Rich, against which you campaigned, is now a good thing?
Obama suckered the Republicans and his idiot party doesn’t get it. No wonder he’s P.O.d
Not quite. The inheritance tax is going from 0% to 35%.
So, just staying with the status quo will create millions of jobs? Further tax cuts should create billions of jobs.
