(CNN) -- WikiLeaks has published a secret U.S. diplomatic cable listing locations abroad that the U.S. considers vital to its national security, prompting criticism that the website is inviting terrorist attacks on American interests.
The list is part of a lengthy cable the State Department sent in February 2009 to its posts around the world. The cable asked American diplomats to identify key resources, facilities and installations outside the United States "whose loss could critically impact the public health, economic security, and/or national and homeland security of the United States."
The diplomats identified dozens of places on every continent, including mines, manufacturing complexes, ports and research establishments. CNN is not publishing specific details from the list, which refers to pipelines and undersea telecommunications cables as well as the location of minerals or chemicals critical to U.S. industry.
The list also mentions dams close to the U.S. border and a telecommunications hub whose destruction might seriously disrupt global communications. Diplomats also identified sites of strategic importance for supplying U.S. forces and interests abroad, such as in the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf and the Panama Canal.
The cable is classified secret and not for review by non-U.S. personnel.

Ron Paul sure was right on this guy. These are EXACTLY the kinds of secrets the government has no business keeping. I mean, really - what’s the worst that could happen? It’s not like America’s enemies are going to be interested in any of this.
Details, details.
But Americans have had to speak to him. Speaks a bit of a manufactured crisis.
Will that get the genie back in the bottle? Is Assange the real problem?
BO is targeting through his WikiLeaks people and places vital to US National Security throughout the World. Ambassador John Bolton was correct, BO is the greatest threat to the US.
Demand that your congressman, senators, County DA, Sheriff, State Legislators, Governor, Attorney General etc. take legal action to remove BO before he completely destroys our Country.

He's not an American; he's Australian, so unless one of his releases undermines Australia, he can't be tried for Treason. However, he can be treated as an enemy combatant by the US.
Up until now, I have had mixed feelings about the latest Wikileaks and Assange. This is a game-changer. It is a direct attack on the US. Now I think he deserves whatever he gets!
If our government really wants to keep our nation’s top secrets classified, they should be kept in the same place that OBAMA’S COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS AND BIRTH CERTIFICATE ARE KEPT.
I know he’s Australian but he violated US law. Have him extradicted and put him on trial. Prosecute the New York Times and the websites that put secret information on the net.
We may be laughing at some of the embarrassing stuff out their now but what’s next? Plans for the space plane? Scurity codes for Chief of Staff Communications? The President’s nuclear codes? IT DOESN’T TAKE LONG FOR THIS CRAP TO BE THREATENING TO OUR SURVIVAL.
He’s a symptom.
A DANGEROUS symptom.
People who leak confidential information that provides aid and comfort ot the enemies of America are either enemies of America or traitors. In his case, he is an enemy of America.
An FDR, Harry Truman, Eisenhower, etc, would have just taken him out.
We have become too refined and litigious for our own good.
Probably too many attorneys and too many liberal judges.
It’s an act of war.
The twerp who released the docs AND the website that hosts them are both acting with hostility.
The server site should have been blasted to smithereens.
The twerp should have already been executed.
Not really seeing anything in here that a person with two brain cells couldn’t figure out. I mean “The Panama Canal” doesn’t really entreaty me to panicking about the release of strategic sites...

Personally, I’d skip the first two steps and go straight to the third. Assange HAS to know every day he wakes may be his last.
Did they list every Wal-Mart shopping center in the country? I hear Wal-Mart is now federal government owned and operated because Homeland Security begins with Hometown Security.
Ron Paul’s Twitter shows once and for all what a moron this guy really is. Anyone who supports him needs their heads examined.
