WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has circulated across the internet an encrypted poison pill cache of uncensored documents suspected to include files on BP and Guantanamo Bay.
One of the files identified this weekend by The (London) Sunday Times called the insurance file -- has been downloaded from the WikiLeaks website by tens of thousands of supporters, from America to Australia.
Assange warns that any government that tries to curtail his activities risks triggering a new deluge of state and commercial secrets.
The military papers on Guantanamo Bay, yet to be published, believed to have been supplied by Bradley Manning, who was arrested in May. Other documents that Assange is confirmed to possess include an aerial video of a US airstrike in Afghanistan that killed civilians, BP files and Bank of America documents.
One of the key files available for download -- named insurance.aes256 -- appears to be encrypted with a 256-digit key. Experts said last week it was virtually unbreakable.

Wave goodbye to Internet freedom
I think you can start there. And if you're really curious try searching for the recent seizure of 82 other websites by the DHS and ICE.
Exactly.
I haven’t seen anything yet that is going to cause a WAR to break out.
Embarrassment...maybe...WAR ...not really.
Although it could give them a real good excuse for that internet kill switch thingy.
I mean ....just look at how easy it was.
This is the type of filth odumbo respects, that being said what a disgrace the obama admin has been in regards to these leaks.
maybe he has copies of all the documents Jug Ears will not release.
When will “M” sick 007 on Julian?
I don’t bekueve for a second Assange is doing this without official help. Who made him the clearinghouse for all this information from these various hacks or leaks? When the climategatge leaks occurred didn’t the leaker(s) simply use a Russian server and within a matter of minutes the files had gone viral? Why all of a sudden would Assange become the defacto leak point? Just as I don’t believe for a minute a lowly PFC was able to waltz in with a flash drive and download thousands of secure documents without any red flags being thrown up.
Finally the article this past August I believe in the Telegraph stating that WH insiders had told Assange to stay out of the US as he could be arrested as a co-conspirator for espionage.
The stench coming from this sequence of events in this whole drama reaches the high heavens. This is actually much more sinister than a simple series of random classified releases. Someone much further up the food chain than Assange is directing this operation.
It depends on what his handlers in the administration supplied him with.
Sounds like Assange has ‘jumped the shark.’
Or came to realize his own mortality. :)
It is the only way to pull a blackmailers fangs.
“Will somebody explain to me why the big fuss over Assange?”
“Never let a crisis go to waste”-David Axelrod...white House advisor to President Obama.
Well, actually, you are making my point. Aren’t all of those websites in the US? How do they plan on taking over the whole thing? There are websites based elsewhere in the world.
There is NO WAY that a mere private had access to all those files without being “guided” from others. I’ll bet that Obastard’s bunch is the REAL source of this leak. Pvt Manning was just the channel they used and he will be discarded like used toilet paper.
Remember the promise of TRANSPARENCY?

Anyone who cares about their country would be very concerned that a POTUS had hidden every scrap of information of his life that he possibly could.
These are pretty easy things to produce. And why are they all sealed?
Well gee...gosh are you really that naive?
Lots of countries control and/or have the ability to shut down the interent in their lands.
You seem to think that a server/website based outside the US can’t be cut-off from America? Silly, silly thinking.
The technology to stop modern communication exists. The question asked earlier this summer was ...do they have the authority... and even without another piece of legislation regarding the “kill switch,” the ICE, DHS, and FCC are simply making the rules that give them that ability.

Similar legislation aimed at imposing Chinese-style censorship of the Internet and giving the state the power to shut down networks has already been passed globally, including in the UK, New Zealand and Australia.
