WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has circulated across the internet an encrypted poison pill cache of uncensored documents suspected to include files on BP and Guantanamo Bay.
One of the files identified this weekend by The (London) Sunday Times called the insurance file -- has been downloaded from the WikiLeaks website by tens of thousands of supporters, from America to Australia.
Assange warns that any government that tries to curtail his activities risks triggering a new deluge of state and commercial secrets.
The military papers on Guantanamo Bay, yet to be published, believed to have been supplied by Bradley Manning, who was arrested in May. Other documents that Assange is confirmed to possess include an aerial video of a US airstrike in Afghanistan that killed civilians, BP files and Bank of America documents.
One of the key files available for download -- named insurance.aes256 -- appears to be encrypted with a 256-digit key. Experts said last week it was virtually unbreakable.

If this were a movie I could see some dark ops guy saying - Mr. Assange - I’m afraid you don’t have the slightest idea of who the F you are dealing with.
Why?
Someone needs to start feeding him and his minions thousands and thousands of fake documents. Flood him with so much self contradictory crap that the real stuff will be lost in the din.
Interesting!!! Not one of the leaks mentions Obama??? hmmmm...now I KNOW he’a aligned with Obama!!
Actually that line was from a comedy -- Beverly Hills Cop.
Bump.
I don’t see how this could possibly dissuade anyone from arresting or killing Assange. The bastard is obviously going to release the information anyway. With his “Doomsday” threat, he is merely presenting those who want to stop him with the option of seeing the information trickle out over time rather than all at once. But as long as Assange is alive and unincarcerated, he is free to compile even more Doomsday files with even more damaging information. The dude is like an evil Matt Drudge.

Not so fast. Assange is an equal opportunity anarchist:see below. Talk about the incompetant Obama.

They are working together. Assange exposing the Saudis may have been worth it. His doomsday file will not have anything bad about Obama.
By leaking State Department Cables, BO has made himself public enemy #1 of all Diplomats worldwide and subjected himself to a lawsuit to legally remove him from office directly before SCOTUS.

AES256 is a very, very secure protocol. It uses a 256bit key, not a 256 character number, i.e. the key is 2^256 long.
There have been attacks that may be successful against AES128 and 192, but so far, nothing is known to have cracked AES256.
Funny quote aside, the idea behind it couldn’t be more grand in scale. This guy has burned everyone including but not limited to the USA, the Saudis, the Israelis, the Russians, etc.
Is there aywhere he can safely live the rest of his life? Is there actually anyone who he can safely consider an ally? I am honestly asking you fine folks because I have no idea what his motivation combined with sense of self-preservation could compel him.
A bone.
Puleeze contract this out to the Russians and let them take care of this elf-righteous jerk. Putin, we need you.
It's tempting to giggle and snigger about all the embarrassment he is causing people we dislike, but on more sober reflection, it's obvious that this must be stomped down hard.
Governments cannot function without certain levels of information security. Negotiations would become impossible, wars will result and with them, thousands if not hundreds of thousands of deaths -- not to mention economic chaos.
What's Assange going to say then?
"Oppsie! I didn't mean for that to happen."?
Fat lot of good that's going to do.
