Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead. If he actually has given the key to another person, it will inevitably leak. There is no discipline among hackers.

"Assange warns that any government that tries to curtail his activities risks triggering a new deluge of state and commercial secrets."

This is supposed to be a smart guy? Should be interesting to watch as the Russians or Chicoms start knocking off everybody Assange ever knew or loved. One by one. So much for "Keymasters."

Rofl. It's really remarkable how few people are able to understand even the simplest of concepts.

Did you ever watch the movie "Idiocracy"?

It just keeps running through my mind...

If this and all the other goofs and crimes the White House has committed over the past two years had happened while W was prez...

Like Chuck Rangel getting a “naughty naughty” instead of rotting in a federal prison where he belongs...

Belonging to a PC protected group is like being from Krypton sans Kryptonite.

Why is this guy still alive? Who in their right mind would let him live must have his head up his a**.

And there was a thread yesterday of him complaining because his life is now in danger? Dude you cannot mess around with state secrets and commit essentially treason or espionage in dozens of countries ...and even remotely think you can walk around like some sort of superhero?

This ain't no double 0 seven movie...this is reality.

So now he wants to claim some sort of nuclear wild card? Unless there is something the "states involved" don't already know through their own espionage networks...nothing he releases will result in anything. It won't trigger war, peace or negotiations. He is releasing information that is already filed & known within the involved regimes. The only real secrets is the public doesn't know the details.

In a way I can understand how 0bama & Friends find this all very dis-interesting and really a non-event long term. Short-term the guy is a fly on the wall about to be squashed for being an annoyance.

Exactly.

All anyone who wants to see the info in the file has to do is take out Assange.

That's why I think his 'sources' are named in the file as well as the 'goods' he has on various governments.

I don’t think he is bluffing at all.

I am sickened by this whole thing. Back in July, when the info was released about the troops, they feigned outrage, now that the leaks pertain to them and their dirty dealings, it’s now imperative that they find him to shut him down. Why wasn’t this the case back in July? My guess is that they thought the next dump was related to the war as well, Obama and co. could care less about the troops. Seems to me the July dump was a tease, now he is going after the big dogs and they are running scared.

Would it not be WONDERFUL though if he had the dirt on Obama, school records, passport records, etc.!!!!!!

It is one thing to have a ‘love everybody’, ‘peace at any price’, ‘hate war’, etc philosophy of life. But to not in the slightest understand or even acknowledge the need for military protection from those who don't believe as you seems totally idiotic.

Physically, these “men” don't look like they could every protect themselves against gov’ts or militaries or backyard bullies. It is a mind game with them, and yet they have no concept of cost.

Who is paying the cost? Some might say those who are being outed for the inane, childish comments they bandy about for their own entertainment.

I say it is all the the courageous and brave hearts who fight to defend Mr Assange’s ‘right’ to free speech. I don't believe that extends to violation of the law, which he must understand as much as he's doing, or going to such lengths to protect himself.

‘It takes all kinds’ of people to make up the world. I just wish there were a few less of Mr Assange and his ilk.

128 bit encryption. Probably. 4096 bits is an exceptionally large number though, and PGP/ RSA style encryption can do that and more.

While all this has been going on, Obama, Holder and crew have pretty much shrugged their shoulders.

Almost like they want this information leaked, huh?

>>include files on BP and Guantanamo Bay.<<

What if the files show that the BP explosion was sabotage to advance a political agenda?

</conspiracy>

Has anybody compiled anything on this latest release of data that describes the true national security threat that the State Department cables release represented?

While I acknowledge there might be files somewhere about something that could “bring down the government,” I cannot believe those files would be about BP and Gitmo.

We all know the files deal with extraterrestrial life and the government’s coverup of Roswell.

As stated in several other threads....
1) Wikileaks is a distraction, it is nothing to the story
2) The data was compromised with ease. If it was this simple, you an be sure enemies of the US already have it.
3) The focus needs to be on who accessed/downloaded this data and who the heck implemented a system that essentially had no security.
4) Wikileaks did the US a favor - exposing a badly compromised system. What if this hd not happened and foreign governments had continual easy access to sensitive secrets.

Just think about the start treaty that was negotiated. Assume Russia had access to these cables and new what the US was willing to conceded upfront? This weakens the US position on any negotiations and severely hampers the ability of the US to have advantageous foreign policy negotiations.

People need to start focussing on where the problems are - not wikileaks.
