HALF MILLION TROOPS, ONE IN FOUR, WOULD LEAVE THE MILITARY
Former Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt just read the full Pentagon report on repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and here's his analysis:
"Don't believe the phony liberal media reports that 70% of troops support open homosexual service, because that statistic included 'mixed' feelings. A closer reading of the fine print in the newly released Pentagon survey shows our troops answered as follows:
Q45. If you had a leader whom you believed was gay or lesbian…9% positive, 91% negative or mixed impact on unit's performance.
Q68c. 85% of Marine Combat Arms, 75% of Army Combat Arms, 64% overall say Negative, Very Negative, or Mixed impact on unit trust if DADT is repealed.
Q90. 29% would take no action if assigned open showers with homosexuals. 71% would shower at other times, complain to leadership or chaplains, don't know or do "something else" [including violence].
Q81. 24% will leave the military or think about leaving sooner than planned. (One half million troops will QUIT the service early, destroying our national security.)
Q80. 6% will positively recommend service to others after repeal. 94% feel negative, mixed, no effect, or don't know about recommending military service to others. (Destroying recruiting efforts.)
Q66. If open homosexuality impacts combat performance, is the impact...9% positive, 91% negative or mixed impact.
Q71. 11% feel positive or very positive about permitting open homosexuality in field environment or out at sea. 60% negative or mixed. 19% no effect.
Q73. 5% say repeal would positively boost morale. 41% say negative or mixed impact morale. Rest no effect or don't know.
In summary, the real statistics prove our nation faces a NATIONAL SECURITY DISASTER if Don't Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed, and open homosexual aggression is forced upon our troops against their will.”

There's no way I can see that the Obama admin can get away with this lie. Hundreds of thousands of military folks are going to start chattering about this to the folks back home, who are going to start chattering about it all over the internet.
The entire right blogosphere is going to light up at this outrage and begin posting blistering tirades within hours.
The talk shows will go nuts with this tomorrow, and for days and weeks to come. This will not rest quietly.

Yep. And here we sit on our @$$es complaining and arguing. I’m losing hope guys. They have us. Short of saying what would have my post pulled and possibly getting banned from FR, there’s not much else to do. Look, the food crap just went through, no raises for the military but the freaking Congress will probably get theirs, increasing medical payments for military, Birthers still being bashed and the latest case refused by the Supremes, GOPers still voting with the Rats, I can’t believe we are where we are.

The thing about this report is the “combat units” the guys actually doing the fighting and engaging the enemy in close quarters combat are against it. We are going to shove this policy down the throats of the guys bearing the brunt of fighting. This will destroy the fabric of America’s infantryman, good luck with retention. Better start the draft.
Will this confirms my suspicions that the Obama Pentagon spun their poll numbers.

I would think this would be better and more illustrative of the report if the actual results were shown, as opposed to lumping answers together.

What a slippery slope it has been. We go from homosexuality being an unnatural perversion and a crime, in fact a sin, to it being a DADT unmentionable, to being tolerable but unpopular, to being “genetic”,to being a protected class for discrimination purposes, to being acceptable, then finally to being promoted as a natural and equal alternative.
God destroyed cities for this.
My guess is the Pentagon Brass - political generals who want to keep their jobs, would say anything the Obama Administration directs them to say about anything.
If they are as bright as that genius General Jack Keane that FOX interviewed today, NOTHING would surprise me.
The LAST thing they would do is support the opinions of real soldiers and real officers in the field. THAT is NOT how they got there.

Did you hear General Keane’s interview? Shepherd Smith (given - he’s a lib) asked this jerk about recent polls that showed that most Afghans in two Southern provinces didn’t know WHY we are there, and didn’t know anything about 9-11 and a significant number of them thought we were there to take away their religion, and this GENIUS responded “They don’t have to know........ most Americans don’t know things in the their own history...”

I thought we were not fighting a non-conventional war in Afghanistan in the sense that our presence there was in part political to win over the population and nation-build
(not that I agree with those roles - I DON’T), IF THAT is the case, one would think that what they know about exactly WHAT we are doing in their country is essential.
My guess is Keane would agree with Obama about closet queens being allowed to profane the Marine Corps.
The other poll bias is that people who are content with the way things are tend not to care or respond.
The squeaky wheel activist liberal gay PFC is more likely to respond to the survey.

I would like to see a few each year quit and run for office. We have to displace the corrupt placeholders we have in office right now. We need to find more Allen Wests and start filling the place with them.
