Last week I unveiled my first rankings and poll for the 2012 Republican field. Hundreds voted on their favorites, and the results were pretty slanted in favor of Sarah Palin. Former Governors Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney also showed strong online support. The voting added one new set of numbers to my rankings. Here are some other changes to my algorithm:

I suppose the voting has just started on that poll, because the vote total was only 24 people when I voted. Even so, Sarah Palin was the clear front runner.

She got my vote, too.

I think John Bolton would make an excellent candidate. He is strong on national defense, will not be bullied by the UN, and is a reliable conservative. Romney and Huckabee are both weaker characters.

Palin leads the pack... but, so far, only 52 individuals have responded to this poll. Glad to see Huckabull is near the bottom of the pile... I would like to see Mittens down there with him too.

>>Romney and Huckabee are both weaker characters.<<

Romney isn’t even a RINO, he is just a damn Socialist. Huckabee is just a RINO.

Neither have a shred of Conservative Credentials.

It’s one of my favorite blogs here in Ohio, figured I’d have the FR community make sure a RINO doesn’t win.

I’m not quite ready to show my hand just yet.

Really don’t think it’s a good idea to show all your cards two years early.

John Bolton would be much more valuable in a cabinet post, for one thing.

For another, good as he is, he doesn't have the personality to be elected. Chris Christie , yes. Bobby Jindal, yes. Huckabee, maybe, even John thune. Sarah - hell yes. (And I pray for the day Lt. Col. Allen West, Ret., gets in the pipeline.

I'd love to see the ticket: PALIN/WEST.

Then after 8 years, WEST/?

Romney - puke. I wish he'd just take his BrillCreamed marbles and go home.

We'll be at the polls 24 months from now. That's the finish line. The race is gonna get started a whole lot sooner.

Anyone who's serious about jumping in, had better already have their ducks lined up, and things ready to go by at least spring of next year.

For the candidates maybe, for us to commit now would be giving the rats two years to prepare. Too early.

It's a two-way street. We'll know soon enough who their most likely candidate will be. You can't keep public sentiment a secret.
