What doesn’t add up is that the need for this population control is strictly superficial. It’s a talking point to sound like one is saving the world. The truth, however, is that the world population, nation by nation, will get into the depopulation trend on their own through the twin elements of urbanization and modernization. Put these two together, and nations will show population decline or stagnance in little time at all.

They don’t get that it’s not simply a small population that helps, but a larger proportion of the population that actually works or contributes intellecturally, much less lives disciplined lives. The sad part is, while supposedly preaching on the side of control, they advocate simultaneously various uncontrolled aspects of our lives as well.

aw jeez...first it’s silent spring, then nuclear winter, global warming, and now we’re back to the population bomb again. Can’t these libs agree on which cataclysm we’re going to wipe out the planet with?
Several years ago I posted ( only 1/2 kidding) eventually insurance will pay for 2 full term labor & deliveries. Then 50% third full term care and child number 4 is on his own.
The radicals of the 60’s & 70’s loved to complain about overpopulation. Overturning abortion laws was about overpopulation as much as so called “woman's lib.”
Right now if the total land area on the face of the earth was distributed evenly, there's about 5 acres per person. Based on estimates of arable surface, there's a little over one acre per person. It's not a matter of arable land availability or loss, or even population. It's about freeing up both populations, land and other natural resources that are now controlled by totalitarians who produce nothing with them.
I suspect that solutions are out there, include converting "non-arable" areas into farmland, and making wider spread use of the oceans. It will be a long time before we run out of land; even longer if people are free to use it.
We're not going to be lucky enough to take the easy way out and just end up as another Mooslim nation. God has things He still needs us to do so he'll toss us in the fire until we're white hot, then pull us out and beat us into shape on His anvil. If more people who are so sure we're on the road to "The New World Order", Islam, or some other catastrophic end would wake up and realize that we're going to be put back on the right track they could recommit themselves to traditional values and make the hammering a bit easier.
Unfortunately, it's more comfortable to wallow in conspiracy theories and fatalism than to change yourself. I mean, really, the toughest thing to do is to change yourself, especially in a society carefully crafted to accept excuses and pass out treats to everyone with a widdle booboo.
