Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) denounced the Bush family as "blue bloods" in an interview posted Wednesday and remarked that a mentality like theirs helped to cause the economic downturn.

Her comment came in response to a statement made by former first lady Barbara Bush during an interview with CNN's Larry King earlier this week. Asked for her take on Palin, Bush told King: "I think she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there."

Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham followed up with Palin, asking if she thought Bush's comment had been planned ahead of time. Palin had this to say:

Best to let those coments go by the wayside rather than respond.

Sara is sounding pretty thin skinned.

I'll say. You can't be in national politics and be responding to every single slight somebody says about you. IMO, anyway.

Sarah should keep out of this, it’s a trap.

The Governor missed a golden opportunity to keep her mouth shut.

Palin was off her game on that response. Starting with love for the Bushes, and downhill from there. Better she’d said, “Mrs. Bush is entitled to her opinion. Case closed.”
Hope this IS closed, in any event. I wouldn’t want to see her getting into a micturating marathon against Barbara Bush. It’d be no skin of Bush’s nose, and would diminish Palin.

I just read the article. In Sarah’s response she deflects attention from herself, to the elites doing the picking and choosing of candidates, rather than the people.
And then moves on.....
Good job Sarah! Tell’em to “Bring it on!”

I’m with you. Not responding worked out so well for Barbara’s son didn’t it?

I say punch them in the mouth. She has nothing to lose at this point.

Exactly.

Here’s the quote of what Sarah said... “I don’t want to sort of concede that we have to get used to this kind of thing because I think the majority of Americans don’t want to put up with the blue bloods — and I say it with all due respect because I love the Bushes — but the blue bloods who want to pick and choose their winners instead of allowing competition to pick and choose the winners.”

She happens to be spot-on 1000% correct. It’s not up to the Establishment, Ruling Class Republicans to pick who wins primaries.

Big mouth Barbara ought to be happy. Sarah’s just schooling her son George on proper self-defense techniques.

He ought to listen.

You go Sarah Palin. We are at at war, and it is way past time for conservative to answer the assaults.

Commence firing. Fire at will.

This was hardly a “rebuke”. But at this point, it should be blatantly obvious that the Bushes are enemies of conservatives. Positioning yourself against them is a good place to be if you’re a conservative politician.

I agree with Sara on this, there is a group that believes they have the divine right of kings to rule the USA and the Bushes are at the top of that heap.. HOWEVER Sara should be gracious and not give her critics any material to hit her with..

I think I would have simply said something like "God love Barbara, she is a woman of her time ..and that time is past " then grinned

If Palin is that thin-skinned then it’s going to be a long campaign for her.

I'd go so far as to say that they EXPECTED her not to respond and had to think twice now that she did. She is not to be toyed with. She has the ammunition. She is not firing blanks.

They either shoot with everything they've got or STFU. I prefer they choose the latter. It would be in their best interest, too.

After all, Barbra sat next to Sarah one time. That gave her insight into Sarah’s very being.

I disagree, She is correct, the blue bloods are trying to pick the next blue blood, in this case the bushes are back romney. She doesn’t look thin skinned, she looks like she’s tough, and unafraid to take on the blue bloods. Of course you don’t support her, so you see it in a different light. I am loving a political figure that tells you exactly what they think. I hope I get to vote for here but I strongly suspect, the blue bloods want Romney, we’ll get Romney...

I think it’s fairly well understood that the Bushes are backing the Mitt.

Yup, they are officially MittWits.

Nope.

Barbara Bush remark also came from the same Larry King interview.

King asked Bush 41 about his candidate for 2012. He mentioned that since Jeb was not running, he would support Romney for the 2012 Presidential race.

Then King asked Barbara ... and wallah, Barabara made those remark.

But Sarah’s actually addressing not just Barbara’s remark. She’s saying it against all the Establishment Republicans.

Apparently, Romney/Bush machinery has already started operating immediately after the midterm operation. Romney’s lying when he said he was still “thinking of about running”.
