Americans aren't crazy about the new airport pat-downs. But according to a new poll, nearly half still back them, with even more supporting full body scanning.
Forty-eight percent of Americans said the pat-downs are justified, while 50% said they are against the new measures, a new Washington Post/ABC News poll revealed.
Meanwhile, the majority 64% said they supported the use of full-body scanners while 32% said they were against it.
The 385 full-body scanners being used at 68 airports across the country have sparked an outcry from flyers, who argue they're virtual strip searches because they produce invasive, intimate images of passengers.

IDIOTS!!!!
Guess I'll just have to boycott airports.
50% of the people couldn’t name the President.
Sounds like they polled everyone who works for Napolitano
How can anyone have a positive opinion on the scanners, if nobody has released data about the adiation dose?
Your average guy is going to think what the 0bama administration wants him to think, that the bomber could be anyone so everyone has to be checked.
One thing you can be sure of is that TSA and the White House have a full up operation to freep these polls, along with their paymasters such as Chertoff and company.
CANNOT believe we live in a nation so filled with “Reality Show” mind-numbed people.
The Feds give you a choice: Body Scanner or a pat-down so invasive that it becomes extremely offensive. Then all of the stories come out and go viral about HOW INVASIVE the pat-downs have become and VIOLA! A majority of Americans favor the body scanners.
And who benefits? Obama does, Napolitano does, Soros does and Rapiscan does.
Who loses? AMERICANS!!!

I’d like the TSA screener to look that little boy 6 years old he is patting down and honestly say that he has possible suspecting thoughts that he is carrying a bomb in his underwear. WHY pat downs, when we KNOW that a nun or an Amish Mennonite widow named Stolzfus with a bonnet is 92 years old and came to the airport in a buggy? Will she blow up the plane. PROFILING...time has come. Next will be the instituion of Slavery, not based on race, but people who are just plain STUPID.
Looks like that CBS poll showing 81% support was bogus.
“Guess I’ll just have to boycott airports.”
Yep, if air traffic should drop significantly, there would be significant changes for sure. Actually, even before this latest fiasco I started driving more. If one is traveling less than 300 miles it’s about break even or even more favorable to drive when calculated as total elapsed time from door to door. And, a lot less hassle as well.
Forgive me for repeating myself one more time, again, just like last time, exactly!*
I think the TSA BS is a diversion to get us to not pay attention to everything else thats going on. As I said on an earlier thread;
If they have us asking the wrong questions, they dont have to worry about the answers. A Pynchonism.
Its a smokescreen to keep us busy while other cr@p slips under the radar!

Interesting.
We shouldn’t be surprised. Anyone stupid enough to vote the kenyan usurper into office is stupid enough to support full cavity searches of hot blondes and 85 year old grannies.
