Glenn Beck said today that he has spoken to military experts about the mystery contrail from a few weeks ago and he says it’s definitely not a plane, but rather a two stage missile. He just wants to know where it came from, and he has a theory. Beck postulates that this missile was possibly from a Chinese sub off the coast of California, perhaps as a show of force to the world, but even more so to President Obama.

I do it because the government is paying me to spread disinformation so that people will not be worried about the presence of Chinese submarines off our coast.

This is getting extremely tedious.
You do not see it everyday because weather conditions at altitude must be ripe for that kind of contrail to form.
It must be at the right time of day to be backlit properly and you must have an aircraft flying throught that area at the right time and you need an observer in the right area to see the “rocket” illusion.
Doesn’t it strike you that nobody up or down the coast called it in like when rockets launch out of Vandenberg?
Only the area where the news chopper was did this look fully like it did.

The contrails spreading on the horizon, the illusion it is a rocket moving away, the orange glinting off the shiny aicraft at sunset.
Given that, I expect we will see similar again.
Just as the next day there was a similar contrail spotted on harbor webcams. And many months previous a very similar contrail.
They will happen again. No it is not an everday occurance.

What was so special about the weather conditions THAT day compared to others in los Angeles? Please enlighten me! LMAO!!! Please tell us all (let me guess you are a meteorologist too) what was so unique about the weather conditions in Los Angeles on THAT day compared that was one time deal.
If it was a plane then the FAA should be able to easily tell us which aircraft. You should know that being a pilot. Furthermore, do you really believe this is the FIRST TIME Ever an airplane ,in the second largest city in the United States, flew that exact route at that time. Please don’t tell me you are THAT gullible!

That will yield interesting results! May I make another suggestion?
Start looking at the sky. At sunset tonight, tomorrow night, or whenever it is clear -- at sunset, when the sun is at its lowest in the west, go outside and spend 20 minutes or more just observing how that setting sun illuminates the clouds and the airplane contrails above. Take note of which side of the cloud or contrail is brilliantly lit, which side is moderately lit, and which side is in shadow. Internalize it, let it sink in how the sun illuminates that which is facing it, and how that which is facing away from it remains in shadow.
Then go watch that video. YOU and your powers of observation are all the expertise you need: if it was an airplane five miles high heading east over a setting sun, the bottom of its contrail would be receiving the most brilliant reflection, and that reflection would be consistent, revealing a straight and level path except where the wind disperses the contrail, and even then, the sun can only illuminate what is above it or to the east of it.
The video shows a plume that is very brightly lit on the viewer's right-hand side, and very brightly edge-lit on the viewers left-hand side; the majority of the plume is NOT brightly lit, because the majority of the plume is FACING THE SUN and away from our view. The sun is in the west, and it is very low; therefore, the plume is vertical, not horizontal. If it was horizontal to a setting sun, the underside would be lit. As it is vertical to the sun, its edges are lit, consistently, top to bottumus, with a larger portion of the edge illuminated on the north-west side, as would be expected. And as it is heading away from the viewer toward the sun in a north-westerly direction, the majority of the plume is in shadow.
If it was a horizontal contrail five miles above the earth headed east, a setting sun would be illuminating the bottom of the contrail, and it certainly COULD NOT brightly illuminate both the right AND left side edges, while failing to illuminate the bottom. You're all the expert you need -- and God provides the rest.
Now, you've got a whole lot of people trying to throw intimidating numbers, brain-wrangling calculations, graphs, photo-overlays, different photos of items they CLAIM (but cannot verify) are of the same event, and they are working mightily to convince you that the video captured an optical illusion. When you are skeptical, they call you a kook.
Illusion is happening alright, but it isn't optical.
In #268 above, I should have said “underside of its contrail.” If the contrail is horizontal, there is no “bottom,” just the underside. The plume is vertical and actually HAS a bottom, but no underside until it starts to arc north-west; the plume’s bottom is lit just like its top — from the west, so the vast majority of reflection is — as it is on the entire plume — reflection on the west side — that is, the side we cannot see because we, too, are looking west. It’s why the length of the plume is mostly in shadow — the side we’re seeing is facing east. Not downward toward the sea, but east.
How many times did you see a solid and continuous track of light reflect off of the other aircraft from forty miles away? That's what I thought.
I am at a loss to understand this comment apparently directed to me. I rarely believe anything government says.
Kind of odd that that pic shows a contrail that angles the other direction from a location only about 15 miles north from the other one. Both points being north of the flight path of UPS902. Kind of odd that it is time-stamped an hour after the Sky2 video was taken. Not many flights into LA in the evening I guess.
Amazing that that is the only contrail in the sky over that whole region of the Pacific.
No it isn’t. That time of day only 2 flights from Hawaii transit that airspace. Asia flights come down from the north.

You need to make sense to be understood. A missile traveling away from the camera will stay in frame until it is out of sight. How do you not understand that?
That satellite pic covers the CA coast from north of San Francisco to northern Baja Mexico. What happened to the “contrails persist a long time” meme? Don’t even post to me if you’re going to push complete stupidity.
How many flights go from Pacific to Baja every day.
You know, the weather varies, some times the weather is right for contrails at one spot but not another. So, a plane could be in a similar flight to SFO from HNL at the same time, but not make a contrail. I will keep posting to you, because you are so willfully ignorant, and you are proudly displaying it.
To date, you have not shown one bit of data, not one bit of proof at all to support your missile claim. But, that is what conspiracy theorists do, make outrageous claims, then ask the reasoned people to disprove them, rather than prove their silly claims. Nice work for the lazy....

Myself, I actually worked at Cape Canaveral on compound #16, rigging Pershing II missles with telemetry and then launching them into the Atlantic.
That ‘contrail’ looked exactly like the trail our missles left in the sky, at about the same temperature and same humidity.
