WOODSIDE, Calif. 1960s songbird Joan Baez is "resting comfortably" at an undisclosed location after falling 20 feet to the ground from a treehouse - a treehouse she purposely had built without walls because she wanted to sleep among real birds at her Woodside, Calif., home. I think she has aged well (photo is from 2007). I am glad she survived the fall. It would have been a stupid way to die.
...a treehouse she purposely had built without walls because she wanted to sleep among real birds...
Unfortunately, she seems to be a typical stupid know it all liberal. Apparently she did not strap herself down to the platform so she did not roll off it in her sleep. Or she did not use the proper safety safety gear ascending or descending the ladder.
There are safe ways to do things. Even sleeping on the side of a mountain as the below picture shows. But you have to be willing to seek out and follow expert guidance.

Yep, she is still pretty at age 68.
And although she was anti-war she did indeed live by her principles. She was no Jane Fonda:
From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_Baez
During the Christmas season 1972, Joan joined a peace delegation traveling to North Vietnam, both to address human rights in the region, and to deliver Christmas mail to American prisoners of war. During her time there, she was caught in the U.S. military's "Christmas bombing" of Hanoi, North Vietnam, during which the city was bombed for eleven straight days...
Her disquiet at the human-rights violations of communist Vietnam made her increasingly critical of its government and she organized the May 30, 1979, publication, of a full-page advertisement (published in four major U.S. newspapers) in which the communists were described as having created a nightmare, which put her at odds with a large segment of the U.S. left wing, who were uncomfortable criticizing a leftist régime. In a letter of response, Jane Fonda said she was unable to substantiate the "claims" Baez made regarding the atrocities being committed by the Cambodian Khmer Rouge.
It would help if she was a bit more careful and thoughtful and used a bit more common sense for the sake of her own safety and her fans.
I'll second that. After the US withdrew from Southeast Asia in the late 1970s and the communist genocide began, Baez circulated a petition opposing the killing. She was attacked for her concerns by Jane Fonda and others, though most on the Left simply ignored the mass slaughter of civilians by the communists they had supported. As they still do.
"I sleep in a tree all summer long," ... "The birds are right there in the morning. Sometimes they're flying so close to my head, I can feel the wind." The answer my friend |
If you want off my ping list get over it!
At least the ground broke her fall. LOL
Mrs T
Principles? Considering she has amassed great wealth via the free market system but preaches socialism is indicative of a pure hypocrite.
Ditto Oprah amassing $3 BILLION in wealth but continues to screech socialism.
Not a good idea to nap in a treehouse with no walls Joan, you crazy old hippie moonbat.

He wasn’t snotty. He was autistic.
How many many trees must a lib fall from from before they call her insane?Read more:And how many knots must she have on her head before she's damaged her brain?
The answer my friend is hanging in the limb, the answer is hanging in the limb.
Now that’s priceless!
I suppose it takes all kinds. I have always thought she was as ugly as a mud fence. Old age hasn't changed that at all.
And although she was anti-war she did indeed live by her principles. Would you also complement a tiger for never eating a turnip?
Thanks... I thought my post was so far down, that no one would see it :)
Joe Hill died as every Communist would in a reasonable world.
