PRAYER REQUEST (PLEASE)
My wonderful DH came home from pre-deployment flight training tonight with some sad news. One of our friends (and one of his former co-workers) was killed in a plane crash in Florida last night. He retired from my wonderful DH's unit a few years ago, and was working as a civilian contractor and was with two other men flying a training mission with the USAF when (possibly due to weather), their plane went down, killing all three on board. Because we're here in Florida, we'll miss his memorial service back in California. He leaves behind a wife and three school-aged sons. He was in his mid-40s or so, about 2-3 years older than my wonderful DH. Anyway, for those of you so inclined, please pray for him/his family ~ and for my wonderful DH, too. We also got word today that a USAF F-22 crashed in Alaska and that pilot is missing. It was definitely a hard day for military (and former military) pilots ... and I must admit it doesn't help my anxiety about my wonderful DH's upcoming 7th deployment.

National Pride
November 19, 2010
My wife, Martie, and I have grown to love Englandits history, culture, and people. One of our favorite activities when we visit is going to outdoor concerts (also known as proms) on the sloping lawns of ancient estates. The Last Night of the Proms event is the best, with fireworks and hundreds of nationals waving little British flags to rousing patriotic tunes.
We loved joining the celebrationuntil the summer our children came with us. When we started waving our flags with all the enthusiastic Brits, our kids were aghast. I can still hear them shouting over the music, What are you doing?! Youre Americans!
God must often feel like that when we blend in and live like the locals around us. I can almost hear Him saying, What are you doing living like that?! You belong to My nation!
Peter reminds us that we are different from the localswe are a holy nation (1 Peter 2:9). Being holy means that we are unique, set apart for Jesus, becoming like Him, and reflecting His countercultural ways of living. It means that we are forgiving in the face of cruel offenses; and merciful, gracious, truthful, and loyal to our promises. It means being just like Him.
So lets start waving the flag of holiness as members of the Jesus nation!
O child of God, guard well your life
From anything that stains the heart;
Forsake those things that soil the mind
Your Father wants you set apart. Fasick
Our loyalty to Jesus should be seen and heard in our lives.
Read: 1 Peter 2:9-17
You are a chosen generation, . . . a holy nation . . . that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness.
1 Peter 2:9

SSgt. Juan L. Rivadeneira, USA, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), KIA Afghanistan 13NOV2010
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace! We who remain hold you in high honor. Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct; We who remain keep this place sacred. Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades; We who remain keep the watch. Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nations call; We who remain press the fight forward in your name. Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden; We who remain have taken up the torch. Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

Good evening, Idaho, romor California...((HUGS))...just arrived this afternoon. I brought all my ping lists from home on a flash drive...don’t have 2007 on my laptop, so current list won’t open. Checked for you on the laptop list...not there. Now I have a not up to date ping list *sigh*
I did bring my lists from work computer on the same flash drive and there you were. That should be an up to date list.
We were delayed getting here for an hour and 20 minutes because of central California fog.
