My wonderful DH came home from pre-deployment flight training tonight with some sad news. One of our friends (and one of his former co-workers) was killed in a plane crash in Florida last night. He retired from my wonderful DH's unit a few years ago, and was working as a civilian contractor and was with two other men flying a training mission with the USAF when (possibly due to weather), their plane went down, killing all three on board. Because we're here in Florida, we'll miss his memorial service back in California. He leaves behind a wife and three school-aged sons. He was in his mid-40s or so, about 2-3 years older than my wonderful DH. Anyway, for those of you so inclined, please pray for him/his family ~ and for my wonderful DH, too. We also got word today that a USAF F-22 crashed in Alaska and that pilot is missing. It was definitely a hard day for military (and former military) pilots ... and I must admit it doesn't help my anxiety about my wonderful DH's upcoming 7th deployment.
Aw, Perky, what news...my heart goes out to you, Hon.
Heavenly Father, You know the trials of our brave military and the risks they take to keep us safe. Please accept the souls of the brave into Your special place and give comfort to those they have left behind. In Jesus’ Most Holy Name we pray, Amen.
