“Very interesting. So if the election officials get to deem “voter intent” for votes that may be for Murkowski, then ALL the ballots must be given the same consideration, we settled that in 2000 when the Rats tried to recount ONLY votes form selected districts.”

Right. That could change all of this, and I think murky and her rich lawyers know that. A weaker candidate than Joe Miller might have folded up the tent and gone home...

Keep fightin’ Joe - we’re behind ya!

I sure hope Joe wins at the end of this debacle, but Lisa
thinks she’s entitled, so no telling what she might do to
undermind the results if it turns out that he pull it off!

I hope Miller makes sure that all absentee military ballots were counted and does check into tallies at precincts. Then and only then should he concede if the totals are not in his favor.

so as usual we find that the candidate on the ground knows far more about the actual situation than reports from the media or the statists. go figure. i guess there are a bunch of very anxious people wanting to bury joe miller and move on quickly before we get a chance to look “behind the curtin.” including persons claiming that a godly man like joe miller could string along his own supporters and campaign workers (who take time from their jobs and families to walk precints and make calls, and on and on) to rake in a little more money. how little these people know of god and believers.

keep goin’ joe. and thank you for protecting our investment in you and our country (unlike coleman who just threw in the towel an independent appeal). us conservatives are all behind you. you take all the time you need to be sure. we’ll keep up our support. there is clearly a lot more at stake here then just an election. we may just learn a lot about how certain statists are stealing elections.

it’s also very clear that if things are done lawfully, miller still has a clear path to victory.

to paraphrase a famous quote: “reports on this site and others of your demise appear to be premature.”

Miller should use his web site to collect affidavits from voters declaring how they voted (or did not vote). He could target suspect precincts first.

Of course, this would only be effective if a large percentage of Alaskans were willing to give up the precious "secret ballot". The Murky supporters and other Democrats would be unlikely to participate in such an independent validation of the vote. But if enough people declared for Miller or for "did not vote", some of the official vote totals would be revealed as impossible. The Miller camp would of course have to supply "did not vote" declarations for any dead citizens still registered.

If I’m doing the math right there are about 250,000 total ballots.

I wonder how that number compares to the last non-presidential election year of 2006.

Anybody know?

Joe is a leader, and being a tanker knows quite a bit about strategy, I really hope he can persevere and do justice to this election and re-write future election laws, we need a prime leader right NOW to enforce election laws.

Or in 2012 we will see the same thing happen.

Or much worse.

Miller: Integrity of the Vote is Vital

Anchorage, Alaska. November 17, 2010 — Joe Miller, U.S. Senate candidate, anticipates the end of the vote counting in Alaska today with the tallying of the overseas ballots. With over 255,000 votes cast, less than one percent of the vote total now separates Miller and Murkowski.

In order to ensure the integrity of the election results, the Miller campaign has requested, and the Division of Elections has now granted, the opportunity to review some precinct logs from throughout the state. Miller campaign spokesman Randy DeSoto said, “Our campaign has sworn affidavits identifying unsecured ballot boxes, other precincts where numerous ballots appear to be in the same handwriting, others where there is 100% voter turnout and still other precincts where the ballots were sent to the Division of Elections presorted by U.S. Senate candidate. These and other irregularities give our campaign pause. Alaskans must be able to trust the results of its elections.”

One important step in reviewing the results of the election is ensuring that the number of voters signed in the precinct logs on Election Day matches the number of votes being recorded from that precinct and that there is no evidence of voter fraud. Further verification of these totals will have to come from the tapes that the voting machines produce with a tally of the number of voters and the break down between candidates. So far the Division of Elections has failed to respond to the Miller request for these tapes.

The Miller campaign will be conducting its review of selected precinct logs tomorrow and possibly Saturday, and will want the voting machine tapes as part of its review. The Division of Elections has also begun its required audit of random precincts from all 40 districts throughout the state.

Additionally, the Murkowski write-in ballots have undergone a hand count review where spoiled ballots are being counted for her, whereas the Miller ballots have all been counted by machine with many valid ballots not being included.

Joe Miller said, “After all the absentee ballots are in and we’ve further reviewed the procedures and the results, we may ask for a recount. Less than 1% of the vote now separates my and Lisa Murkowski’s total. If there is a recount and a consistent standard is applied to all the ballots, who knows what the difference would be. We need to uphold the integrity of the vote and we need a consistent standard.”

I’m not from Alaska and don’t know anything about Alaska politics other than what I read here.

However, so many last minute things were done to “let” Murkowski win that, after all the shouting has died down, I honestly don’t see how she could be the legitimate winner.

I’m glad Miller is pursuing this.

Go Miller!

Don’t listen to the AH’s like Gingrich et al who have chosen political expediency over principle.

Just heard Newt G on Greta just gushing and wet smacking on Lisa M's wrankled old butt on how wonderful and smart she has been to win the election and what a fantastic Republican she is.

Newt wants to be Prez and he tells the entire Tea Party to fornicate off.

WHAT A STUPID!!!

“The Democrat candidate getting less the 24% is an indication of heavy Democrat support for Murkowski.”

That is self evident. Murkowski is a not a true republican and never was. The question now is there corruption in the election process? If there is, what should be the result? What does Alaskan law say? I don’t think there is a “run-off” option.

Alaska has the right to conduct there elections as they see fit. However, I personally think that once a candidate should lose in a primary, they should be disqualified from running in a general election as a “write-in” candidate. They should, IMO, be allowed to run as an independent as Lieberman did. However, what I think doesn’t matter, as I am not a resident of Alaska.

If you stand on your head and look at this charming pic of Murky, her smile looks..well, halfway normal...but that’s the ONLY way.

Definitely. This also shows us that in many cases the DEMS were not prepared with the turnout and could not garnish enough voter fraud to make the difference. In 2012 they will be out again only stronger.
