DETROIT -- Michigan high school teacher Jay McDowell says he didn't like where the discussion was going after a student told his classmates he didn't "accept gays."
So McDowell kicked the boy out of class for a day.
In return, the teacher was suspended for a day without pay for violating the student's free speech rights.

Good. I was surprised they didn’t suspend the student, which is what has been happening recently. Guess the schools got tired of losing law suits.

He’s very talented at twisting and turning everything to fit his own agenda. It’s sad that, at such a young age, he has been led in the wrong direction.

My guess is that if he hadn't kicked the kid out of class, someone would have complained and he would have gotten suspended for not doing it either.

It’s annoying. They don’t have time to teach arithmetic or reading comprehension, but plenty of time to discuss their feelings.

Were it my daughter, I'd be in that teacher's office asking why he was looking at a teenager's waistline and he had better have a damn good answer.

Not to nitpick, but you mean "government school," which is becoming increasingly irrelevant as more and more people choose other education options.

I find this INCREDIBLY sad. I have a nine year old son. The only concept he has of sexuality is that it is gross when mom and dad kiss. Only a person subjected to sexual abuse would “know” they were gay at 9.
The perverted homosexual teacher should be fired. Banned from teaching in any school. This would have been the punishment for a heterosexual teacher. If the teacher had kicked a homosexual student out of class for speaking out.
