I am confident that by now, you have all read about Sarah Palin's Alaska program. I'm also confident that you have all been witness to the MSM's overtime/overkill effort to destroy Sarah Palin's reputation.
One of the barrage of tactics the MSM has been resorting to is to brand Sarah Palin's Alaska as a "reality tv" show. Some of your have been guilty of assisting the MSM by posting stories which include the description of this particular show as being a "reality" program.
I would like to encourage all my fellow Freepers out there to call the show what it really is; a travel program. Let us refrain from helping the MSM in their consumed desire to destroy the Palin family's reputation and political endeavors.
Pissy doesn’t shake things up, he just makes an ass out of his self........not worth a warm bucket of spit, mentally speaking.......
You are exactly right. Candid Camera is a great example of preparation and predictability. Even the ‘cop’ drive-alongs are pruned out of millions of taped footage.
The TV industry realized that by using ‘real’ people in ‘whacky’ situations they could eliminate enormous ‘celebrity salaries’. It’s worked out well for small production companies and cable networks. Witness the copy-cats.
IIRC - TLC marketed Sarah’s show as a documentary of Alaska, presented by its former Governor and her family. But TLC cannot control the media critics.
What fun would an opinion forum be if everyone walked in lockstep?
It wouldn’t be worth your time Or a warm bucket of spit!
There is no shortage on all of us for making an ass out of ourselves.
In that regard Pissy is in a world class all time first place.
There’s a difference between honest dissent and obnoxious shilling.
get your butt back to DU where you came from.

Such tough talk on an anonymous internet forum. I’m sure there is a 7 year old girl shaking in her flip flops as we speak.
Just kidding. The 7 year old girl is laughing, too.
send me another message like that and maybe you would have a 1% to get my respect.
<><><><><
Do you really think anyone gives a flying rat’s patoot about your level of respect for anything?
Delusions of grandeur, much?
If it were reality TV, they’d show Todd and Sarah in bed, honest, they would.
<><><><><
So instead they show Willow’s boyfriend jumping the fence to get upstairs to her bedroom.
Alaska is a beautiful state, from all that I have seen. Can’t wait to get there.
But cupcakes, boyfriends jumping fences, Piper calling her mom Sarah have what to do with Alaska?
There is a whole lot of shilling going on around here. They just don’t shill for the same thing.
How can you miss it? We even have a Soros shill.
That will only get worse as time wears on.
So call it what you want to, Im just glad that lots of folks gets to see a bit of real Alaska!
<><><><><
That’s what disappointed me the most about the show ... not enough Alaska.
I know what baking cupcakes looks like, I know what keeping boys out of daughter’s bedroom looks like, I know that kids will figure out how to get mom’s goat. Those things happen in every state of the union.
What we need is an anti-palin-posting-history-filter. Maybe John could get on it for us, it would be so much better here is we could simply filter out anything negative about Sarah (sigh) Palin.
Come on everybody, it's a "Docureality-travelogue" with a touch of Jimmy Houston and Salmon Pro Shop thrown in.........
The premise is faulty. Having a child out of wedlock is not what gave her fame, it was being the child of Sarah Palin.
I’ll ask you what I asked before — why would not wanting to vote for a person for President have anything to do with whether you like a reality show that has them?
I enjoy Little People, Big World, and think it is a fun show, but I wouldn’t want to nominate the wife for President.
Your comment plays into the thought process the original poster was trying to ridicule — that this show is actually all about Sarah Palin.
You seem to suggest that the show IS all about Sarah, and that people who don’t think she should be president shouldn’t watch the show.
I think that is a misinformed argument.
Well, they did vote John off. :-)
I also wish Bristol had quietly pursued her education and raised her son. It would have been the dignified thing to do in light of the circumstances.
I agree, also, that watching her dance (I have never seen the show, but saw some clips on Fox)left me a little confused. Is this supported by her parents? As a Christian, I can’t say that I would be comfortable with my daughter doing this.
I haven’t seen it, and I won’t see it. I watch very little TV, and reality shows won’t change that. I don’t begrudge her doing it. Hope she makes a ton of $$
Well, they did vote John off. :-)

Chuckling. I was originally going to put Jon and Kate plus 8, thought of what you just wrote, so used her new show’s name instead.
For them, being voted off the island is not nearly enough. Could we just vote the island into non-existence?
“But cupcakes, boyfriends jumping fences, Piper calling her mom Sarah have what to do with Alaska?”
I guess because in Alaska they make a lot of cupcakes while calling their mom by their first name, while their older sister’s boyfriend is up to no good.
Also, the sun stays out for a long time in the summer and a short time in the winter. You probably knew that one already though.
The husband looked castrated.
Are you kidding me? Todd is the rugged, handsome, fit and studly hero right out of central casting.
