The Learning Channel’s (TLC) new series, Sarah Palin’s Alaska premieres this Sunday night, Nov. 14th, despite the best efforts of her detractors to shut it down. What might appear on the surface to be an effort by those who oppose her views on conservation and hunting issues is, in reality, backed by the usual suspects who seek to shut down any voices who do not go along with their progressive agenda. Those who claim to be the biggest advocates of free speech continue to prove that their brand of free speech only applies to speech (and programming) that fits with their ideology; no others need apply.
Leading the charge to shut down the Palin series has been Michael Kieschnick, who has his hands in just about everything, working with George Soros, Jim Wallis, Andy Stern, Drummond Pike and many more.
Kieschnick seems to feel that the Discovery Channel and its affiliates were signed, sealed and delivered to the progressives, and it is clear that he is outraged that they would present anything that deviates from the agenda. It is clearly another Fox News plot! From his anti-Palin petition page :
Its one thing if Fox News gives Sarah Palin a platform. But when Discovery Communications home to the Discovery Channel, the “Planet Earth” series, the Science Channel, Animal Planet, and TreeHugger.com gives a show to Sarah Palin, it undercuts everything the Discovery brand has come to represent.
That’s funny….I thought it represented making a profit…
With such a disastrous environmental track record, how could Sarah Palin get a nature show on an eco-conscious media platform like Discovery? The answer may lie in Discovery’s COO, Peter Liguori, who joined Discovery in December after a previous stint at Palin’s other TV home: Fox Broadcast Co.
Ah ha! Now we have pinned down the culprits behind allowing Palin to be seen. Evil Fox News strikes again.
Kieschnick doesn’t always spend his time wringing his hands about Sarah Palin. In fact, he is one busy progressive. As Michael Vadum wrote about recently, Michael Kieschnick has been working with George Soros through the Secretary of State (SoS) Project and was a co-founder of this effort. Vadum explains:
The purpose of the SoS Project is to destroy the remaining vestiges of electoral integrity. The group endorses left-wing, Democratic secretary of state candidates who have no respect for clean, honest elections.
Vadum continues:
According to reports filed with the IRS, members of the Democracy Alliance gave sizable contributions this year and last year to the SoS Project. Alliance member and SoS Project co-founder Michael Kieschnick, who heads Working Assets, a long distance provider that funds so-called social justice projects, gave $10,000.
He has also worked hard with George Soros to sway religious groups to vote for pro-choice candidates. According to Frances Kissling:
With support from George Soros and Michael Kieschnick, the founder of Working Assets and Credo Mobile, groups like Sojourners, Faith in Public Life and Catholics in Alliance entered the electoral arena. Catholics in Alliance and its sister organization, Catholics United, were active in voter registration and organizing Catholic voters in swing states like Ohio and Pennsylvania in 2006 and 2008. Presenting themselves as more Catholic than the pope — faithful to church teachings on contraception, abortion and everything else the majority of Catholics have long rejected — the groups insisted in press release after press release that good Catholics could vote for pro-choice candidates, so long as those candidates were also working to reduce the number of abortions.
His business CREDO Mobile, is based on promoting progressive causes:
The company, CREDO, even boasts that it has the support of President Obama as it markets itself as an agent of social change. It pitches its mobile phone services with a vow to fight for “real” health care reform, free speech, peace and the environment.
To those ends, CREDO claims it has raised $63 million for liberal causes and groups such as the ACLU, Doctors Without Borders, Planned Parenthood and Earthjustice — all the while skewering its bigger, well-established rivals AT&T and Verizon Wireless for financially supporting Republicans and moderate Democrats.
This guy must have endless energy, because he also teaches, sharing his wisdom with tomorrow’s leaders:
For many years, he was a lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, teaching a graduate seminar on financial innovation. He currently teaches a class on social innovation at Stanford University.
In 2009 Michael Kieschnick and Frannie Kieschnick were financial supporters of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights in Oakland, California, which also links to Apollo and the Tides Foundation. This is starting to sound like the same old story, isn’t it?
Kieschncik also sits on the board of the radical Social Policy Organizers’ Forum Board, published by Wade Rathke, along with Deepak Bhargava, Drummond Pike (Tides), Andy Stern, and many others. The Editorial Advisory Group includes favorites such as Noam Chomsky, Janice Fine, S.M. Miller, Peter Olney, Frances Fox Piven, Heather Booth, Peter Dreier, Maya Wiley, Robert Fisher, Ashutosh Saxena, Ken Grossinger. They host the Organizer’s Forum, in partnership with…the Tides Foundation, of course.
But his busy schedule doesn’t end there. Kieschnick also serves as a board member for the League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, Sojourners (Jim Wallis), and the Beatitudes Society, which supports progressive Christians through seminary chapters and social justice fellowships.
Perhaps Sarah and The Learning Channel should be honored to be the target of such a busy man and the related organizations that have so many other progressive causes to fight for. They obviously find her a worthy cause to battle. Whether you are a fan of Sarah Palin or not, I strongly suggest you watch every minute of TLC’s production; if not for what you might learn about Palin, than just for the sheer pleasure of driving the usual suspects crazy with the ratings. Will I be watching? You betcha!
.
> “Do cable companies supply statistics on what their customers select to view?”
.
Absolutely!
They sell the data, just like Google sells data on what people are searching for. (Microsoft paid dearly for that Google data)
.
I’ve heard at least 10 people talking about it today, which is more than I hear talking about any show anytime (excluding sports programming) — they all say they can’t wait to watch. I hope she gets a huge audience as well.
The ratings will go through the roof.I will be DVRing it thanks for the reminder
I think the Fox show rpeats at 9 Pacific (midnight Eastern.) I think.
I do know that the rumor was floating around that she OKed killing young wolves in their den when she was running for VP.
(O, do you remember when I suggested after her first book, that she release a second, picture books for liberals about Alaska....Think this is her answer.)
Very prescient, hoosiermama!
I want to see the episode of the new show where a bugling bull elk gets all "inclusive" with the "busy progressive" Michael Kieschnick by mistaking him for a nearby cow!
Now that would be a great television moment!!! :o)
Given Obama’s horrible track record on the environment, BP, cough BP, I don’t think he should appear on Mythbusters that could really destroy that show people might not watch it anymore, like I did.
You betcha I remember, and this could be her answer! Soros and Marxists are protesting because she’s their worst nightmare.
GOOD, LOYAL, PRO-LIFE, AMERICAN PATRIOTS either like or love Sarah Palin, and the anti-American, unAamericans among us won’t stop trying to stop her at every turn, YET SHE PREVAILS, and I think I know why. She has Heavenly help. Yes, I said it.
Do you not think an angel rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm?
Brings a smile to my face thinking about it. ;-)
Can hear him screaming; “shoot the bull - shoot the bull.” LOL!
You betcha....She’s visits here every now and then.
Yep! Here too.
I am not sure if they track through the cable boxes, but it seems like an easy way to count viewers.I am not taking any chances. lol

When I was in sales, among my customers was a company that had a monster data base and controlled the timing and content of commercials for all of the cable companies.
In addition they monitored the usage of each company, by home, TV set, time, day, frequency etc.
Because cable is a two way medium every single event that is viewed on any cable is recorded and the stats are down to the second.
They know if you are watching or channel surfing, if you like porn or sports or daytime or 3:00 AM viewing.
The cable stats are far more accurate than over the air, because these are real numbers, not projected numbers based on a Nielsen sample.
When they said that FOX had 6,905,407 viewers on election night and msnbc had 1,904,200 the advertisers know that these are real numbers and that their message got to 3 times the number of people on FOX vs msnbc.
Governor Palin is on a roll.
And NO, not even the little poll dweebs can do a damn thing about it!
( OMG, say the left, SHE IS 4 % less popular, ......wait....wait.....Oh NOs!, she is 6% more popular on Friday than she was on Wednesday!!)
Buahahahahahahahahaha!
Paranoid Palin watching!ANd now she has her own TV special!!! I LOVE it!
"Will she run or not? OMG!!!!!" ,say the Progressive country club Republicans, we must find a poll/scandal to do somewhere that will get her shorts in a twist! (BUhahahahahahahahahaaha progressive Republicans!)
It all adds up to one thing. Governor Palin's POWER is increasing.
And her opposition is getting more and more desperate as this woman comes closer and closer to destroying the vaunted stereotype of Leftists liberal women, who BTW are Bleating Effers and Bleating Heifers compared to Governor Palin. This is THE liberal leftist stereotype of women that will be destroyed by Governor Palin, the stereotype around which the leftist and progressive Republican multiverses revolve and OMG, it is the end of the world as we know it. I mean how could we possibly have a president who can hunt, fish, cook in the wilderness, hammer nails, raise children and look dead sexy in the process, as well as being on top of the job as ( gasp!) president!!! I mean ( liberal whine) " Its just not fair!!! and I mean,( progressive Republican whine) " We won't be able to control her!!!! Oh NOs!!!!!
BUahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa!
What a huge laugh. Sarah Palin is a genuine American woman, not a trussed up ivy league , ball busting femino-nazi who pretends to be interested in Euroweenie style men for the sake of ( if they can close their eyes long enough) procreation, and the continuation of the human race, even if there is global warming and the world as we know it is ending?
Buahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Governor Palin has the left and the progressive Republicans ALL SHOOK up!
I LOVE IT!!!!
She was supposed to be GONE by now. I mean, we have tried every thing!/s
Governor Palin is here to stay, and thank God for that.
Soon Governor Palin will name her price to the Progressve Republicans, and they will again have fits!!!!
I think their main beef was that she promoted aerial killing of wolves to thin the packs, because they were hunting down all the wild elk, etc. She said many people hunt for their food in Alaska and they can’t allow the wolves to take food out of their mouths.
She actually fought big oil, but the left claims she was in bed with them.
