A Stanislaus County school is forcing a student to take an American flag off of his bike.
Thirteen-year-old Cody Alicea put the flag there as a show of support for the veterans in his family.
But officials at Denair Middle School told him he couldn't fly it. He said he was told some students had complained.
So now the eighth-grader folds up the flag and puts it in his backpack while he is in class.
His father, Robert Kisner, said his son should not have to put the flag away.
"He's got that flag on his bike because he's proud of where he comes from," Kisner said.

"Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know, bring their Mexican flags and they'll display it, and then of course the kids would do the American flag situation, and it does cause kind of a racial tension which we don't really want," Parraz said. "We want them to appreciate the cultures."

Affirmative Action!
Their sponsors know exactly what they're doing.
Ohhhhhhh they are going to catch coast to coast non stop conservative/patriot HELL, NOW! over this.
Because they want to fly the flag of their own loyalties.
Let's send them there. Let Mexico pay for their education...or they can put their flags of other nations away.
My point was focused specifically on Mexicans, a subset of the larger Hispanic ethnic category. I'll hasten to agree that many Hispanics (Marco Rubio comes immediately to mind) are outstanding citizens, especially the Cuban exiles in greater Miami.
I think that Mexicans may present a different case. Because the mother country is in such close proximity and due to the huge surge of Mexicans (legal and otherwise) into our country, they have been able to main close ties with their land of origin.
Unlike the Germans and Italians of prior generations (who came from afar), assimilation just doesn't seem to be happening with Mexicans. And there's much to prevent it, with services like Telemundo, Univision, Estrella, Telefutra as well as signs in Spanish that the previous wave of European immigrants didn't have.
Living here in Texas (a so-called minority-majority state), it's easy to see evidence to confirm my thoughts that a large segment of the Mexican population living here remains loyal to the mother country. I pass through several Mexican areas while driving to work. Yesterday, Veterans Day, I saw the Mexican tri-color flying outside of businesses and homes and not Old Glory. Sure, that's an anecdotal snapshot, but it's what I saw.

That is a very nice potted plant in the foreground.
You mean the potted plant wearing the blue shirt? Right? :-)
You disrespect the beautiful flowering plant. Near center on the pic. I just hope those bastards didn’t kill it out of convenience.
A small matter of semantics in this query...I note the term Unified in the school district name. Is that common usage in California?
FWIW, here in Texas, nearly every school district uses a name such as Katy Independent School District.
Not implying that one nomenclature (or state) is better than the other, of course... :-)
Jorge Boosh’s fault.
Huh?
Question number one.....
Where the hell is the local VFW????
