Planned Parenthood received $349.6 million in tax dollars in its fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2008 and paid its president, Cecile Richards, $385,163, plus another $11,876 in benefits and deferred compensation.
Also, according to a “fact sheet [2]” published by the organization, Planned Parenthood Affiliate Health Centers performed 324,008 abortions in 2008.
Planned Parenthood’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2008 is the latest year for which the organization has publicly released an annual report [3] and published the annual sum of grants and contracts it received from the government.
The $385,163 in pay Planned Parenthood President Richards received in the organization’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 was recorded in the organization’s publicly available Internal Revenue Service Form 990 filed for that year.
Richards also received $346,285 in total compensation from Planned Parenthood and $38,476 in total compensation from related groups in the organization’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2009, according to the organization’s Form 990 for that year.
Planned Parenthood did not respond to repeated inquiries from CNSNews.com about Cecile Richards’ compensation.
If the left is so committed to “the right to choose” they can fund it directly.

Why would any organization want to encourage abortion with that kind of risk for the woman?
The numbers are astounding. I very much doubt that most people are aware of how much abortionists are profiting from abortions and contraception.

$385,163 + $11,876 + $346,285 + $38,476 = $781,800
So, his take on each baby was $2.42 per baby.

There’s a book, Unplanned, coming out in January from a woman, Abby Johnson, who used to work at Planned Parenthood. She left while participating in her first actual abortion procedure and walked across the road to join the Coalition for Life.
Planned Parenthood sued her and it garnered national attention.

Abby details in the book how Planned Parenthood compels people who visit to have abortions because its helps the bottom line more than those who choose not to have abortions. People who work there are pushed to get people to have abortions.

I’ve read the studies attempting to link abortion to breast cancer and they are inherently flawed. I don’t believe there’s a link. Abortion is unsafe in other ways, however, and it is obviously immoral and contrary to the will of God. The case against abortion is strong enough to stand on its own without bringing in this outside issue that is by no means even close to conclusive.
