Wow. This is the extent of the news update. Welcome to the new world of hi-tech journalism. I expected a bit more verbosity to say the least. Not your father's news service. It may be pithy and succinct and I suppose, reluctantly, the format does work but only in certain specific situations. I emphatically wouldn't want this venue as my only news source.

I neglected to say that this so-called aviation expert has zero credibility. I remember the cockamamie explanations for TWA flight 800 about sparks in the tank causing the explosion. It was a missile. That’s what people saw. That’s what it was. Just like in this case.

Former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Robert Ellsworth, who is also a former Deputy Secretary of Defense, started this by calling it a big missile.

It's moving much too slow to be a missile IMO. Most likely a contrail from an aircraft at a very high altitude.
There's lots of important issues to be concerned about. This isn't one of them but it is a sign of how jumpy everyone is.

Looks like a plane contrail to me. Missile launches move fast, even at 30 miles away. This just hangs for a long time like a subsonic plane.
The ‘true believers’ won’t believe anything less than it was some sort of horrific attack or a show of force by us though, no matter the evidence now.

If it was a jet well that ought to be easy enough to verify.
All planes are tracked by NORAD and the FAA.
It doesn’t look like contrails looks more like exaust from a solid rocket booster.
Wouldn’t there be other planes in the sky trailing contrails? I see them all the time overhead and there will be many of them, not just one.

Does anyone else remember an incident a few years ago involving airliners and a small missile fired that came very close to them, in the same area around LA?
