That’s not the video. It’s the same news broadcast filled with STILL shots. There is a one-second view on the middle of the video, but I’d love to see the actual original video that had everyone thinking it was a missile.

Contrails only form when the moisture level of the air at the altitude the plane is cruising at is near saturation. Add the water vapor from the exhaust and a few particulates, at low pressure and temperature, and it will condense into an ice cloud. Missiles don't leave 'contrails', they leave trails of combustion products (smoke) which aren't dependent on atmospheric conditions or altitude. The video clearly shows a column of smoke, its source is accelerating away from the camera to about 20 or so degrees right of the viewer's zero.

Alright. Your sources have me convinced. Without having been able to see it and judge it with my own eyes, I’m willing to believe it’s very probably a jet contrail.
I think there’s a quality about the video that leaves some doubt, mainly the density of the plume that we see and its seeming proximity to the ground. But I’m no longer so certain as I was.
Your explanation seems reasonable to me, too. I thought that’s what we were seeing in the video, too. But since the footage I’ve seen is second generation and I’m never able to see it in its entirety—nor watch where the object ultimately travels to—I’m willing to concede enough doubt that it’s probably a jet contrail.
Agreed. I was merely commenting on someone else’s post about no other contrails (if it was a contrail which obviously it isn’t) being in the area.

Whatever, unless a total accident by Russia or the US or space Aliens, it is an exceedingly serious and purposeful incident.
According to the CBS news web site a sergeant at Vandenberg stated there was a launch Friday night of a Delta 2 rocket. Well, I was watching for it that night and there was no launch. But I was on my roof Monday night at 7 PM and there was a launch from Vandenberg because I saw it clearly. So were there two missile launches at around the same time? Or is this some communications screw up?

For those having trouble parsing the NOTAM, the times are GMT for noon today through tomorrow evening. If there were surface combatants in the area that could certainly be the source of the missile, and the fact that the Pentagon is still saying “Uh, we don't think it was us” would seem to indicate it wasn't a planned launch for daylight hours.
I watched the videos, and I was 100% convinced that it was NOT a jet contrail, but some sort of missle launch.

I agree. I read everything on that site a few months ago. Very educational. I think the majority of the people here on FreeRepublic are going to remain skeptics though, just like the chemtrail believers whose arguments he blows to shreds with evidence and logic on his site.
Not when I saw the news source as Twitter. When I first read the article headline ‘Top Aviation Expert 100% Convinced the “Missile” was a Jet’ I had expected, would have liked for a bit more in the way of details about the incident.
At any rate... Just look at the video. There is no question its some type of rocket/missile and not an airplane. LOL!

Could be China, Iran or North Korea firing a Submarine launch ICBM off our “Port Side” (aka Los Angeles) to warn us not to mess with them.

I would be careful about throwing around the word “Conspiracy”. You have been brain washed by our government to mock people on evidence that could make the government look really bad. So I have to ask you the following questions.
1) Did the Nazis conspire against the Jew to exterminate them?
2) What about 1918 World Series?
3) What about many murders in our country that involves more than one person and its covered up.
All I am saying is do not be so dismissive and buy the government line. The government plans stuff all the time.
