State Rep. Timothy W. Jones (R-Eureka) of the Missouri House of Representatives was unanimously elected by the new Republican caucus to be the next Majority Floor Leader. Why is that newsworthy? Because he was represented by "Birther Queen" Orly Taitz in a federal case alleging that President Barack Obama was secretly an Indonesian named Barry Soetoro and ineligible to be President of the United States.
Jones was listed as a plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by lawyer-dentist Taitz to obtain an original birth certificate, immigration records, passports and other vital records from Obama.
Taitz is pretty pumped about Jones being in a position of power. "WOW, an unapologetic birther is unanimously elected to be the speaker of MO Hopuse of Representatives!!!" Taitz wrote on her blog. "PLEASE, CONTACT HIM AND DEMAND THAT HE BRINGS THIS ISSUE TO THE FLOOR OF THE STATE HOUSE OF REP-S."

Yes. Be very specific and narrow.
Don’t use “weasel words” that allow for “interpretation”.
I see your point, but words like “equivalent thereof” and “similar” unless strictly and narrowly defined, are not concrete.
Words like “must...
Must bear the signature of the attending physician
Must bear the name of the hospitla

I don’t see how simply requiring a birth certificate for office is birther crap. I don’t see focusing on it constantly, however, i see nothing wrong with requiring that since they made such a deal over mcCain
This is HUGH! Seriesly.
Oh my. The laughs will be non-stop.
If the law specifically says that the COLB is NOT equivalent for purposes of presidential electoral qualification, then it won't be.
It did say that, which meant that no Missouri resident could run for president since Missouri only issues COLB. Hence the quick retraction of the proposed amendment bu it's author.
I simply cannot imagine any bureaucracy NOT keeping the actual birth details "somewhere". They may not trot'em out on simple request, but I'm sure they exist.
The only necessary change is to require the part of the Missouri bureaucracy which has the actual birth documentation to issue such for the specific purpose of running for elective office. Obviously the author of the legislation wasn't very bright.
We don’t need any investigations. All we need is one state to require proof of NBC to be on their 2012 President ballot. The WH and MSM would fume, but it would be checkmate.
I have no idea of what all is involved but I have a problem believing that it was a simple as that. Otherwise you're correct, link the amendment with legislation saying that long form birth certificates would be given out and that would have been the end of that.
I really, really, REALLY love living in Missouri! Never a dull moment.
Agreed. We won't. Pound the crap out of obama's commie agenda. That fool is, sadly, the best reminder the people have of the utter and complete incompetence of the democrat party.
When the next republican runs, all he needs to do is say that democrat who's running against me? He's the exact same thing as obama.
Skeeery! Landslide, possible control of senate and even more house seats.
What will probably get very interesting will be,when liberals who kept quiet on this issue grow tired of losing with Lord 0HAHA, and start coming over to our side to weaken him and get rid of him.
The Missouri State House of Representatives has a 105 - 58 Republican majority after this Nov. election. So they should be able to pass any legislation they desire. I’m not sure of the numbers in the State Senate chamber.
