Keith Olbermann announced Monday night that he's dropping the "Worst Person in the World" bit -- probably the most popular segment of Countdown with Keith Olbermann -- from the nightly MSNBC broadcast.
"As of right now, I am unilaterally suspending that segment with an eye towards discontinuing it," he said. "We don't know how that works long-term. We might bring it back. We might bring back something similar to it. We might kill it outright."
Olbermann acknowledged that the change was a direct response to Jon Stewart's remarks at the "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear" that MSNBC and Fox News were essentially two sides of the same coin, saying that he agrees with Stewart that "the tone needs to change.
"Today, given the serious stuff we have to start covering tomorrow, we think it's the right time to do it short-term and then we'll see what happens," Olbermann said, referencing the Nov. 2 elections.
"The anger in this news hour was not an original part of it, nor was it an artifice that we added to it," he declared. "It was a response to a threat to this democracy posed by [former President George W.] Bush."

I read about this on DU. Those mindless morons are on suicide watch as their world seems to be crumbling around themIt's just after midnight here in Boston, and you just made me have my first uncontrolled laugh of the day, which I can tell will be bubbling out of me as I see the faces of the sad yuppies in my neighborhood at the polling place.
I guess this means I'll be laughing for the next 24 hours. Hope I don't die!

Who is Jim Thompson? Jim Thompson is the 2nd shooter on the grassy knoll
He's the guy who said, "Ya'll wait here, I'll be right back" to the miners in Chile.
Jim Thompson is the guy that said, "Hey, is it OK if I smoke here?" on the Hindenburg
Jim Thompson is the guy who said, "Screw it, it's just ice" to the captain of the Titanic.
Jim Thompson is the guy who said, "Just stick some gum in it, it will hold" to the head of BP
I hate that Jim Thompson guy!

LOL! I'm sure Keef loves it that they are comparing MSNBC to Fox News. Keef probably has a Brit Hume blow-up doll at home.

Up yours Olbermann... the reason you're dropping the segment is because you couldn't find any conservatives in power to kick around... every where you looked there was no one but your bleeding heart fans in power doing bad things to the United States and its interests.
So I repeat... UP YOURS OLBERMANN you P.O.S.

I guess he can only hate on Beck and O'Reilly so many times before even the most die-hard KoolAid drinkers start to vomit.
Oh, and Bush threatening democracy, Keef? You wouldn't know free speech if it bit you in your bloated ass. How many conservatives have you had on your show, well--EVER?

The anger in this news hour was not an original part of it, nor was it an artifice that we added to it," he declared. Well, since artifice means 'made by (a) man', I...agree?
