Yeah, I smell a crock of crap here! There is no way in hell that they would escort a plane, all the way down the eastern seaboard to NYC, if there was even the least hint of potential danger. They would escort it to existing or former bases in Maine, or Otis on Cape Cod. Man, if this is a staged event, like AF-1 circling the Statue of Liberty, these guys are more desperate and stupid than I even thought they were!

Boeing 777 needs a pretty long runway to land.

I doubt it could land safely at a little airport in the Hamptons.

Something is not adding up in my head. Why test all the airports & delivery trucks on one day?? To me if this is a “dry run” Why “blow” the operations cover completely? IMHO something is fishy.

More than likely they’ll be using in-flight refueling so the F-15s would be topped off with fuel when they took over the escort at the border. That, and they’ll probably be carrying a couple of external fuel tanks.

There have been many, many threats, and what are we always told.....”not act of terrorism...nothing to see, move along.” I’m sure there are twice as many that we never hear about. Even when it’s obvious as at Ft. Hood, and the Fruit-of-kaboom guy, we’re told it was just one mentally demented individual and not some vast plot.

So if this one is touted as a real threat, and we’re given warnings, I’ll be suspicious as to why - right now - is this one the real threat and the others not!

Imagine what it would be like to be a passenger on that flight. You know there’s a possibility of a shoot-down. You don’t know how high that possibility is, but you know it’s possible.

Assuming the cockpit has not been taken over by terrorists and that the pilot is not a terrorist, I can't think of a reason to shoot down the plane.
