Truth Or Error?
October 29, 2010
Steve often witnesses to his co- workers. But when he mentions something directly from the Bible, someone frequently responds: Wait! That was written by men, and its full of errors just like any other book.
The following letter to the editor in our local newspaper expresses a similar thought: Believers cite that the Word of God is infallible, but I see no apparent reason to believe that the words written in the Bible by man are any more infallible than the words written in a science journal by man.
How do we respond when the Scriptures are so readily dismissed as being just mans words with errors? Most of us arent biblical scholars and may not have an answer. But if we do some reading (2 Tim. 2:15), well find the evidence that its God-inspired (3:16) and therefore trustworthy.
For example, consider this: Over a period of 1,600 years, 40 different authors wrote the 66 books of the Bible. There were 400 silent years between the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 of the New Testament. Yet, Genesis to Revelation tell one unified story.
While we accept the Bible by faith, theres plenty of evidence that its true. Lets be diligent to study and share what we learn with others.

REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!
Pfc. David R. Jones, USA, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, KIA Afghanistan 24OCT2010
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
God Of Our Fathers
Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace! We who remain hold you in high honor. Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct; We who remain keep this place sacred. Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades; We who remain keep the watch. Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nations call; We who remain press the fight forward in your name. Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden; We who remain have taken up the torch. Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

Going great, thanks, Army Bro! I'm also off tomorrow - have a Dr's appointment in the morning for another cortisone shot. Other than that, not much going on.
