Challenge to the MEN of Free Republic: RESPOND. (vanity)

Posted on 10/24/2010 6:57:34 AM PDT by cycle of discernment

(this was posted in a previous thread about America dying, with no reply from men, as has become too sadly familiar) ----------------------------------------------------

When a country lifts up a man like Bill Clinton that defiled the Oval Office as none has ever done, the media throws their arms around him, he is not held accountable nor has HE EVER OFFERED THE MUCH TORTURED APOLOGY SO MANY CONSERVATIVES ARE ASKED TO DO, FOR MINOR SLIPS OF THE TONGUE....

Our world has gone upside down.

Clinton should have hung his head in shame and and been ostracized from society. This lack of moral decency, a lowering of any standard of integrity other than some manufactured BS, opened the doors for a corrupt and lying Barack Obama.

We, the people, including the media should have rejected Clinton for his craven acts in our most honorable place. He should be invisible today.

But since so many citizens now are addicted to pornographic behaviors that they do not want to exorcize, once good people said nothing.

Come on, Free Republic people—especially the males—to be a decent human beings, you need to stop protecting the moral decay for your own tittilation and stand a stand, make a decision, take a side. It is required of you.

That means raising yourself to a better place, and it begins with each of us.

I notice again and again, when the topic is brought home, the males either rabidly castigate this as puritannical ( it is not, it about slow genocide at the altar of individidual and selfish base sensation)-—or they dive under a rock and say nothing while the world their families are supposed to thrive in, withers away in putrid decay.

And yes, violence is begetted, because love is lost and selfishness and loathesome, base addiction wins.

The bitter irony is that the fashionable target to attack instead is the church, religion, faith—while protecting the vile inhumanity of rank and devouring pornography flowing into every aspect of our living.

The church is not perfect, because it is made up of imperfect people, but her sextant is clear. Her tonic is essential. The church is always in the process of being purified, but it is not possible —on earth—because this is not heaven—for the church to be a shimmering and flawless place when in the hands of a flawed people. But those of good heart and high spiritual connection continue to protect her in God’s name.

The future is up to the males, to take a stand for decency, come what may.

Do males of this calibre even exist anymore?

Stand up MEN.

Are you implying that the males just shuffle off and say, ‘well, what about those women that liked Clinton, forget it, i’m protecting my porn..”?

Not at all. I've voted in every election since I was in my early twenties and I've always voted conservative and against people like Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy. I did this even though I live in Massachusetts - never once did I throw up my hands and say my vote didn't matter anyway.

However, I have just one vote to cast. Fortunately, I married a woman who will not cancel that vote out, so at least I can walk out of voting booth with my wife knowing that our visit resulted in a net gain of TWO votes for the good guys!

I don't know where your "protecting my porn" statement came from, as I have nothing to do with it, I assume you were making a general statement about men?

I am so confused by everything in this thread.

I can only answer for myself, so to ask me to speak for all of the guys here is not possible.

How is calling on men to take a stand against pornography and immorality a wrong thing? Why is it impossible?

I never said it was a bad thing. It is impossible though. Free speech and all that Constitutional nonsense (s/)

Why are so many men here violently angry at the suggestion?

Violently angry? Did I miss something? If someone is posting violently angry posts, hit the abuse button and have it deleted.

Why do you assume that this is a damaged female making the call?

Again, I only speak for myself, but I think this kind of generalization of men on FR is counter productive. I personally never used any of the words or descriptions you've suggested. So maybe I'm the wrong person to respond to you.

That was something I never understood. If women were really bothered by the sexual prowess of Bill Clinton, why were they still attracted to him? I was working in Washington when that all went down, and very few people “in the know” had any respect for him, even in the Pentagon. The scariest thing about Clinton was his total disdain for security in favor of his sexual drive. His phone conversations with Monica Lewinsky were monitored, which reveals his real stupidity.

What I have written is not at all about personal experience.

You’d be surprised if you knew my demographic.

As would you be surprised if you actually knew me.

So your mom, being vulnerable to the scumbag Clinton’s “charm” ( though he is an assaulter of women, I suggest you clue your mother in, hard to imagine a violent, hotheaded brut being attractive), so your mom, de facto, admits she is not equipped to make the clear-headed, far reaching decisions that shape our future.

Sad story, representative of too many citizens I’m afraid. Again, it is the 15% that must lead.

Ok, so your story supports my point, that strong-willed, morally solid and clear sighted MEN must lead the way. I need to insert a caveat—there will be strong women there too, just not in the numbers—like the astonishing and brave Sarah Palin—and they lead with honor and equal value extended.

OK, I’ve got things to do.

Thanks for an interesting discussion. I’ll drop back in a while to see how it’s progressing.

Maybe my problem is that I’m nothing like what you are complaining about, so I might be taking it a bit personally.

After divorcing a horrible woman (both as a wife and mother) and raising 2 sons with no help, I do take offense to some of your comments.

But I won’t take it personally, since I believe if you really got to know me, we’d get along nicely!

LOL! Just like a man: Genesis 3:12

Women are always standing up. Why do you think there are so many women taking leadership positions and running for office this year? This is why you can't find a single elected man in Washington who is willing to stand by Sarah's side and agree with her when dems govern as idiots.

It's not just the pornography and the "wink-wink, nudge-nudge" of Fox Babes and similar posts, it's that some men have abdicated their responsibility to be men and seem quite happy to let women take the helm now. Of course this is threatening, for some reason to some men, but your only response is to make derisive and offensive comments about women you don't like, or if a woman does something beyond her traditional role. Rather than step up to the challenge and try to do better in your own lives, some men would rather sling mud.

You say many things I have been thinking and agree on. Particularly some women voting irresponsibly. The dems have figured out how to clan up otherwise not politically supportive women with their other lesser groups.

Maybe this nobama screwup election maybe, maybe has opened many women's and otherwise sane dems eyes to tyranny posing as progressive-ism.

Instead of looking back at the 19th, we should seriously consider an IQ test for voter registration or at minimum mandatory verifiable photo ID to cast any vote and serious criminal prosecution of voter fraud, which should offer some relief from the “silly/stupid/fake/dead” dem voter fraud.

Clinton received the majority of the women vote, most of whom found him "handsome" and "charming".

Ted Bundy was described much the same way...

The two elections of Bill Clinton prove that between 42.9% (1992) and 49.2% (1996) of voters are not qualified to vote.

Men and women both do in the voting booth. Problem is most women lean heavy socialist in the voting booth.

If socialist were not voted into power, the press and politicians would be a little more afraid of the voters and would not be so blatant with unfair coverage in news and so forth.

A majority of men vote conservative and a greater majority of women vote liberal. That IMO has been the problem.

We need to get both genders voting conservative in higher numbers.
Democrats use welfare, benefits and government employment along with taxation of only those making 50k or more to get their voting base.

Don’t misunderstand, my mom is a staunch conservative and would never vote for Clinton or one like him. The point is, if someone like my mom, who truly despises Clinton can be charmed, it is no wonder that those who agree with him are in such thrall.

My point is that Clinton should be ostracized and ignored in the public realm, but many overlook his sleaziness because of his charm. That includes men, who wish they were just like him and women, who are easy prey for the “bad boy”.

What exactly is "the topic?" Pornography? You sound passionate about something but I'm not clear what that something is.
I agree 100% on all points. I can't make heads or tails of this post.
Can you try again COD?

Having said that I'll extend my remarks to say this in what I believe to be the general gist of your query...
I can't govern the actions of another. I can speak out against them if they're egregious and beyond the pale like with Clinton, but that changes little in the culture in which we live today. Each individual has to make the determination to live a decent life. And it's not easy with the way things are today. I would imagine that it's always been hard to curb one's sexual appetites.

Keep in mind that I'm almost 50 and I grew up watching commercials of buxom women wearing Playtex bras and scanty underwear so "light porn" was already a norm in my life. The seeds were sown and I've personally had to work hard to curb my own sexual appetite. It would be less of a problem for men in general if prostitution was legal despite the Biblical ethos against such actions.

And even though I may not go out actively looking for sex since my divorce if a woman came up and told me straight out that she wanted to jump my bones it would be difficult to say no. It's crass, but it's true. However, with the advent of AIDS a one night stand, to me, is not worth dying over. (yes, yes...use a condom. I know.) If I would choose instead to gratify myself at home while watching a blue movie then that is no concern of anyone else either.

So, IMO, you can't make a blanket accusation against men on pornography and sexual desire. Despite our best attempts at being good men we're still flawed and will still seek out sexual pleasure at diverse times. Simply look at the Bible for an understanding of this. Consider Abraham's son, and widower, Judah. Despite his upbringing he still visited Tamar believing her to be a prostitute and consorted with the woman. Men are men. We occasionally fall from grace. Staying in that fallen state, both mentally and physically, is the real problem.
Just some thoughts to consider.

I don’t know either. I don’t get it but then I find the most attractive men to be the quiet hero type who has faith in God and strives to be a good man. Eh, guess that makes me an odd ball in some ways.

I agree with you that we need to take steps to prevent voter fraud and keep those who have no business voting from doing so. I think that at a minimum, this is what needs to happen:

I think these are very reasonable guidelines to ensure the integrity of our voting process.

Anyway, I have yard chores and other business to attend to, this is a fascinating discussion and I'll return to it in a few hours.

It wasn’t Bill Clinton who delivered the pizza with half his thong hanging out. I think it is shallow, stupid and pointless to blame men for not resisting temptation without ALSO blaming the temptress. Where did I make any derisive comments about any woman? What women are you assuming I don’t like? I think you must have a guilty conscience because, if anyone is slinging mud, it is you and the author of this one sided diatribe. Now go back and read the posted article and read what I wrote. Read them both to see what they actually say; not what you are reading into them. If you are honest you will admit you have made a mistake.
